MIDO-Italy Milano Optical Show Expo Profile
MIDO-Italy Milan Optical Show is a grand event in the global optical eyewear industry. Founded in 1970, it is one of the largest professional eyewear exhibitions in the world. The exhibited products are of high quality and feature excellent craftsmanship, with the latest styles and technologies leading the fashion, trends, and direction of global eyewear consumption. As a result, it enjoys extremely high prestige in the industry worldwide, providing a comprehensive understanding of the development status and future trends of the global eyewear manufacturing industry.
The Italian Milan Optical Eyewear Exhibition (MIDO) hosted over 1,200 exhibitors at the new Milan Convention Center, attracting more than 57,900 professional visitors during the exhibition period, an increase of 11% compared to last year. Both Italian and international participants showed an upward trend, specifically from over 160 countries and regions around the world, including Asia, America, Africa, and all of Europe.
“Before the exhibition opened, we hoped for an increase in visitor numbers compared to last year. Thanks to everyone's efforts and the trust the industry places in us every year, we achieved our ambitious goal,” said Giovanni Vitaloni, President of MIDO. “Throughout the exhibition area, we observed active buyers and strong interest in exhibitors, partly due to our collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency ITA, which is synonymous with high-quality, excellence, and transparency, confirming that the Milan Eyewear Show is a trade fair with these characteristics.”
Making deals and building connections are essential added values, driving many companies around the world to participate in the Milan Eyewear Show each year. But MIDO is also about cultural exchange, discussions on the future of the industry, and interactions between practical and potential solutions. This explains why the meetings held at the "OTTI CLUB space" were so valuable. This always crowded stage focused on design, with guests agreeing that less rigid, aesthetically advanced, sustainable lightweight designs, and handmade crafts are necessary to return to the roots of design. In recent years, Chinese light industrial products have increasingly faced opposition from various parts of Europe and the EU. By participating in this exhibition and utilizing the preferential conditions of the trade zone, enterprises can expand their share of the export channel for Chinese light industrial products, further expanding foreign trade. Therefore, MIDO-Italy Milan Optical Show provides a high-quality platform for Chinese production enterprises or import and export companies to enter the international market. Chinese enterprises have always been important exhibitors at this exhibition, fully demonstrating the importance of China in the global eyewear industry through their presence in the exhibition halls.
