Profile
The Beijing Pharmaceutical Fair – National Pharmaceutical Trade Fair (PHARMCHINA) is a major professional gathering of immense scale and influence in the fields of pharmaceutical formulations and greater health. Established in 1979, it has grown into the largest and most authoritative exhibition for pharmaceutical products in China, providing an efficient platform for companies to explore market opportunities, build brand visibility, secure professional distributors, expand retail channels, engage in industry networking and learning, and reconnect with longstanding partners as well as forge new collaborations.
As pharmaceutical reforms continue to deepen—moving from “Three-Medical Linkage” to “Three-Medical Coordination”—the sector is sending increasingly clear signals. The pharmaceutical market is undergoing profound transformation, driven by both national policies and evolving market demands. In particular, with the gradual integration of online medical insurance, the emergence of innovative drugs, and the normalization of centralized procurement, the landscape of the pharmaceutical industry is being reshaped, presenting both fresh opportunities and significant challenges.
As a specialized trade show for the pharmaceutical and greater health industries, this event showcases remarkable participation across the sector. Exhibitors include leading names such as Sinopharm Group, General Technology China Pharmaceutical, Renfu Pharmaceutical, Fosun Pharma, Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group, Huahai Pharmaceutical, Harbin Pharmaceutical Group, Yuekang Pharmaceutical Group, Anhui Baker, Lei Yunshang, Zhendong Health, Xinhua Pharmaceutical, Shisi Pharmaceutical Group, Zhenbaodao Pharmaceutical, Huluwa Pharmaceutical, Beijing Tongrentang, Yifan Pharmaceutical, Pulo Pharmaceutical, Chuangnuo Pharmaceutical, Beite Pharmaceutical, Jincheng Pharmaceutical, and hundreds of other top-tier domestic pharmaceutical manufacturers and listed companies. Additionally, more than ten provincial and municipal delegations from Beijing, Sichuan, Hunan, Fujian, Hainan, Guizhou, Gansu, Xinjiang, and other regions will collectively showcase their brands, launch new products, and engage with industry peers to identify business prospects and explore collaborative pathways.
The Beijing Pharmaceutical Fair – National Pharmaceutical Trade Fair (PHARMCHINA) features exhibits spanning chemical medicines, traditional Chinese patent medicines, Chinese medicinal herbs, herbal granules, OTC products, medical consumables, medical devices, TCM diagnosis and treatment equipment, personal care items, adult products, medical–aesthetic integration products, pharmaceutical R&D supply chains, pharmaceutical logistics technologies and equipment, Internet-plus healthcare solutions, and smart marketing initiatives. This “specialized zones and focused exhibitions” approach effectively concentrates target audiences.
As a bellwether for the pharmaceutical industry, the fair is committed to fostering platforms for knowledge sharing and information exchange. At PHARMCHINA, industry leaders gather to anticipate market trends, brainstorm business strategies, discuss cutting-edge policies, and share practical experiences. A series of high-level, forward-looking conferences will be held concurrently with the exhibition, addressing pressing topics such as omni-channel marketing, new retail models, regulatory compliance, cross-border e-commerce, Three-Medical Linkage, medical consortiums, and project approval procedures, offering comprehensive insights into current industry dynamics and emerging opportunities.

The Value of Participating in the National Pharmaceutical Trade Fair
- The National Pharmaceutical Trade Fair (PHARMCHINA) is China’s largest and longest-running specialized exhibition in the fields of pharmaceutical preparations and greater health. Established in 1979, it convenes twice annually—spring and autumn—and is widely recognized within the industry as a barometer of China’s pharmaceutical development and a central hub for connecting the entire value chain. Organized by Reed Sinopharm Exhibition Co., Ltd., it forms a “three-exhibition synergy” with the concurrently held China International Health & Nutrition Expo (NHNE) and the China International Pharmaceutical Raw Materials/Intermediates/Packaging/Equipment Fair (API China), serving as a strategic platform for linking global pharmaceutical supply chains, showcasing cutting-edge innovations, and guiding industry trends.
- The core value of participation lies in its comprehensive coverage of the entire industry chain and its ability to precisely connect pharmaceutical manufacturers and commercial enterprises. Covering chemical drugs, proprietary Chinese medicines, biologics, traditional Chinese medicinal materials and decoctions, OTC products, pharmaceutical R&D supply chains, medical devices and consumables, pharmaceutical logistics, smart marketing, and Internet-plus-pharmaceuticals, the fair creates a complete industrial ecosystem—from research and production to distribution and retail. In 2025, the combined spring and autumn editions are expected to attract nearly 5,000 exhibiting companies and over 300,000 professional visitors. Among them, manufacturers and R&D institutions account for 32%, pharmaceutical distributors for 25%, and retail pharmacies and distributors for 28%, providing exhibitors with a strategic window to engage directly with key national purchasing decision-makers.
- The fair establishes an international platform that connects to global markets, gathering leading brands and innovative forces. Top domestic pharmaceutical companies—including Sinopharm Group, General Technology China Pharma, Taiji Group, North China Pharmaceutical, Guangzhou Baiyunshan, Beijing Tongrentang, Yuekang Pharmaceutical, CR Sanjiu, Kelun Pharmaceutical, and others—have participated continuously. Meanwhile, independent pavilions or national delegations have been set up by countries and regions such as Germany, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Japan. At the 2025 Guangzhou spring show, 25 overseas brands and their general agents from 15 countries and regions joined, marking a significant acceleration in internationalization.
- The fair keeps pace with three major industry trends—innovation-driven development, international expansion, and revitalization of traditional Chinese medicine—building a technological high ground through deep integration of industry, academia, research, and application. At the 2025 Guangzhou spring show, a dedicated “Innovation Meets the Future” launch zone showcased over 300 pioneering achievements in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. The inaugural Innovative Drug Launch Solutions Competition, featuring joint evaluations by AI systems and industry experts, became one of the event’s standout highlights. Concurrently, 32 conferences and forums, along with hundreds of expert presentations, addressed core topics such as policy interpretation, market trends, marketing innovation, and internationalization pathways. A dedicated area for the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine ignited a wave of cultural enthusiasm, with AI-powered four-diagnosis tools and Shengmai bagged tea among the newly presented “new Chinese medicines.”
- Through a “special zone–special exhibition” model and tailored events, the fair provides exhibitors with end-to-end support—from product launches to market implementation. For instance, the “High-Growth Channel Zone” established for grassroots healthcare and new retail pharmaceutical markets employs a three-dimensional linkage of exhibitions, conferences, and activities to seamlessly integrate market insights with resource coordination. Provincial and municipal government delegations make concentrated appearances, with the Beijing delegation organizing over 30 consecutive participations by Tongrentang, Yuekang, Shuanglu, Yadong, and other enterprises, jointly cultivating the brand ethos of “Reassuring Quality Through Beijing Pharmaceuticals.” Interactive zones such as the TCM Healing Market and the Spring Festival Hot Products Parade offer exhibitors direct channels for engaging with end consumers.
- For Chinese enterprises, this fair serves as a strategic gateway for expanding into the domestic market, connecting with international resources, and demonstrating innovative capabilities. With international audiences spanning the globe, over 500 international guests attended forums like the Asia Biopharmaceutical Industry Exchange Meeting. Exhibiting companies can leverage this platform to access nationwide pharmaceutical business resources, seizing opportunities for innovation-driven growth, international expansion, and high-quality transformation.

Review
The 2025 National Pharmaceutical Trade Fair (PHARMCHINA) successfully concluded its spring and autumn sessions. The 90th spring edition was held from May 21 to 23 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, while the 91st autumn edition took place from November 19 to 21 at the Nanjing International Expo Center. The spring show was themed “Quality Leads to a New Chapter,” whereas the autumn show centered on “Innovation as the Engine Driving High-Quality Development of the Industry Chain.” Co-organized by the China Pharmaceutical Industry Information Center and Reed Sinopharm, it stands as the annual highlight of the pharmaceutical sector.
In terms of scale, the spring exhibition spanned 170,000 square meters, integrated with API China and NHNE, bringing together 2,907 exhibitors from around the globe. It attracted over 200,000 professional visitors, including 32% from manufacturing and R&D institutions, 25% from pharmaceutical distribution, and 28% from retail pharmacies and distributors. Notably, attendance from grassroots medical institutions increased by 40% year over year. The autumn exhibition covered nearly 100,000 square meters, drawing more than 2,000 pharmaceutical companies and over 100,000 professional attendees. Concurrently, it hosted over 30 thematic conferences and forums, along with more than 10 special events.
This year’s fair featured numerous highlights, with innovative breakthroughs and internationalization emerging as central themes. The spring show introduced a dedicated “Innovation Meets the Future” launch zone, showcasing over 300 groundbreaking innovations in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors since 2023. In the inaugural Innovative Drug Launch Solutions Competition, AI-driven solutions were jointly evaluated alongside industry experts, resulting in 12 winning proposals. Meanwhile, international engagement accelerated markedly, with 25 overseas brands from 15 countries—including Germany’s STADA Group, Hetero, CaplinPoint, Maxmind, and Li’s Pharmaceutical—setting up independent pavilions. Events such as the “Asia Biopharmaceutical Industry Exchange Meeting” and the “China Pharmaceutical Internationalization and Innovation Forum” drew over 500 international guests, fostering multiple cooperation agreements between Chinese and foreign enterprises.
A vibrant area dedicated to the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine sparked widespread interest in TCM culture. At the spring show, the “Fourth Traditional Chinese Medicine Heritage and Innovation Product Showcase” highlighted more than 50 new TCM products, including AI-powered four-diagnosis devices and Shengmai bagged tea. At the autumn show, the “High-Growth Channel Zone” adopted a three-dimensional integration model—exhibition, conference, and accompanying activities—to seamlessly connect market insights with resource alignment. The Seventh Strategic Development Forum for the TCM Industry delved deeply into topics such as TCM internationalization, pharmacoeconomics, and grassroots market expansion.
The Beijing delegation made consecutive appearances, underscoring the strength of the “Beijing Pharmaceuticals” brand. At the spring show, the Beijing delegation brought together 12 leading companies, including Chunfeng Pharmaceutical, Yadong Bio, Shuanglu Pharmaceutical, Xinghao Pharmaceutical, Jincheng Tail, Shengyong Pharmaceutical, Honglin Pharmaceutical, Saisheng Pharmaceutical, Shuguang Pharmaceutical, Shuangji Pharmaceutical, Jiacheng Bio, and Boran Pharmaceutical, collectively presenting chemical drugs, OTC products, biologics, and proprietary Chinese medicines. At the autumn show, more than 20 Beijing-based enterprises—including Tongrentang, Yuekang, Jialin, and Huaxia Shengsheng—participated, jointly promoting the brand philosophy of “Reassuring Quality Through Beijing Pharmaceuticals.”
Complementary events added richness, establishing a high-end platform for industry dialogue. The spring show hosted 32 conferences and forums, addressing issues such as supply-side reform in pharmaceutical distribution, the Innovative Drug Launch Solutions Competition, and the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine. The autumn show featured the “China Pharmaceutical Distribution Industry Supply-Side Structural Reform Forum,” where leaders from the National Health Commission’s Pharmaceutical Administration Department explained key revisions to the Regulations on the Implementation of the Drug Administration Law and unveiled the “Fifteenth Five-Year Plan” Blue Book for the Pharmaceutical Distribution Sector. Jiangsu JinSili Pharmaceutical showcased its independently developed novel platelet aggregation function testing system based on four-concentration determination, drawing significant attention from the industry.
Attendees agreed that the National Pharmaceutical Trade Fair is not only an excellent platform for brand exposure and business matchmaking but also a critical hub for understanding trends in China’s pharmaceutical industry and exploring pathways toward innovation-driven growth and internationalization. From its origins as a drug allocation platform during the early days of reform and opening-up to its current role as the “Eastern Window” for global pharmaceutical innovation, PHARMCHINA has witnessed and propelled China’s pharmaceutical industry through a profound transformation—from generic‑drug dominance to an innovation‑driven era.
