The Dongguan International Famous Furniture Fair (Famous Furniture Fair) was founded in March 1999. It is a prestigious international brand exhibition in China's home furnishing industry, a globally renowned business card for Dongguan, and the driving force behind Dongguan's exhibition economy. Established during the early boom of China's furniture industry with the original aim of promoting local industrial development, the fair has cultivated a unique "front exhibition, back factory" model, providing a natural foundation for in-depth cooperation and communication between exhibitors and visitors.

Leveraging the furniture industry cluster in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the exhibition is surrounded by tens of thousands of furniture manufacturing enterprises of various scales, along with abundant upstream and downstream resources of the comprehensive home furnishing industry chain. Houjie has become the most concentrated furniture manufacturing hub in China's manufacturing sector, while the Famous Furniture Fair serves as the core platform for China's most important furniture production base. The Dongguan International Famous Furniture Fair (Famous Furniture Fair) was established under the direct guidance and operation of the Houjie Town Committee and Government, with the goal of promoting the long-term and healthy development of the local furniture industry. In the same year, the "Dongguan Famous Furniture Club" was established as an association to undertake the fair. After the exhibition was successfully established, it transitioned to fully market-oriented operation.

The Dongguan International Famous Furniture Fair (Famous Furniture Fair) relies on the fair as its foundation. The first phase of the Famous Home Expo Park (Hall 9), covering over 400,000 square meters, has been completed and opened, forming the world's largest integrated exhibition and trade platform that combines global brand exhibitions, franchising, procurement, and direct sales. In 2017, resources were further integrated to pioneer the 30,000-square-meter Hall 8 Whole-House Customization Pavilion. In 2018, the International Famous Brands Street, featuring 9 independent flagship stores, was fully opened. Thus, a furniture exhibition and trade cluster radiating from Hall 9 across the Greater Bay Area has taken shape. With the official release of the "Outline of the Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area", the groundbreaking ceremony for Phase II (Hall 10) of the exhibition center was officially launched on March 16, 2019. The Phase II Hall 10 project covers an area of 64,000 square meters with a planned construction area of 380,000 square meters. Connected to Phase I Hall 9, the combined scale of both phases will reach a construction area of 780,000 square meters, forming the world's largest comprehensive headquarters complex for the mega home furnishing industry.
