Tibet International Exhibition on Oxygen Production and Supply, Medical Equipment, and Emergency Rescue Devices Profile
The Tibet International Exhibition on Oxygen Generation and Supply, Medical Equipment, and Emergency Rescue Devices (hereinafter referred to as the Tibet Medical Equipment Exhibition) will invite the Emergency Management Department of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the Tibet Emergency Rescue and Safety Service Base, hospitals in various Tibetan cities, supply and service stations, hotels, the Tibet Fire and Rescue Corps and local municipal fire brigades, the Tibet Earthquake Administration, as well as rescue organizations from across the region, to attend for visits and exchanges. The event is expected to attract over 12,000 visitors.
In recent years, the accelerating global warming has led to glacial retreat, triggering floods. Disaster incidents caused by glacial collapses have been occurring repeatedly in Tibet. Moreover, the region’s unique geographical location, complex geological structure, and highly variable climate have made it one of the most disaster‑prone provinces and autonomous regions in China, characterized by a wide variety of hazards, extensive geographic distribution, high frequency of occurrence, and severe economic and social losses. In particular, meteorological disasters, geological hazards, water‑related disasters, and forest‑grassland fires are widespread, pose significant risks, cause substantial damage, and exert far‑reaching impacts, seriously threatening the safety of people’s lives and property.
At the same time, Tibet is known as the “Water Tower of Asia,” with vast areas of glaciers and lakes, and ranks first nationwide in the total area of wetlands, national forests, geoparks, national scenic spots, and nature reserves, underscoring its critical ecological importance. However, the region’s emergency response infrastructure remains relatively weak. Constrained by geography, natural conditions, and the level of economic and social development, Tibet has long faced challenges such as an incomplete disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief system, outdated infrastructure, difficult rescue conditions, and harsh operating environments. Poor transportation links and insufficient transport capacity, compounded by adverse weather conditions, severely hinder the rapid and efficient execution of emergency rescue operations. Therefore, vigorously developing emergency rescue equipment and systems in Tibet is of great significance for enhancing emergency response capabilities, safeguarding border security, and ensuring social stability.
Located on the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau, Tibet experiences extreme cold, low oxygen levels, and harsh environmental conditions. To promote the adoption and widespread use of emergency rescue and oxygen‑supply technologies in the region, thereby strengthening protection for the lives, property, and daily livelihoods of the Tibetan people, the Tibet International Exhibition on Oxygen Generation and Supply, Medical Equipment, and Emergency Rescue Devices has been organized with the support of the China Emergency Management Society and the China Medical Rescue Association.
