HEMUS Expo Profile
The Bulgaria International Defence Exhibition (HEMUS) was established in 1995 by a decision of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Bulgaria. Since 2001, the theme of HEMUS has been "Defence, Anti-Terrorism, Security", which continues to this day.
The International Trade Fair for Defence Equipment, Anti-Terrorism and Security, "HEMUS", is held every two years in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. At the last HEMUS exhibition, there were 157 exhibitors from 50 countries, including VIP delegations from the United States, France, Germany, Israel, and South Korea.
Bulgaria is a member of NATO and the EU, and will join the Schengen Area in 2025; bilateral trade between China and Bulgaria has developed rapidly, with bilateral trade reaching $4.22 billion in 2023; China has become Bulgaria's third largest trading partner and second largest export destination outside the EU. Bulgaria is an important node in the "Belt and Road" initiative in the Balkans; Plovdiv is Bulgaria's second largest city, an important industrial, commercial, scientific, cultural, and transportation center in the Balkans; the international railway line from Belgrade to Istanbul passes through here.
Exhibiting exclusively at the Bulgaria International Defence Exhibition (HEMUS), small and medium-sized enterprises that meet the criteria will be assisted by our company in applying for "Subsidies for Small and Medium Enterprises to Expand into International Markets". The Bulgaria International Defence Exhibition (HEMUS) is the only trade platform for Chinese defence companies to enter Bulgaria.
