As land reform progresses, rural land transfer accelerates, and intensive management gains momentum, rural labor shortages are becoming increasingly acute. In tandem with the drive toward agricultural modernization and the expansion of agricultural aviation, the use of drones for crop protection has emerged as a preferred choice and a prevailing trend in China’s agricultural sector.

The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region boasts abundant land resources, covering a total area of 1.183 million square kilometers, with 137 million mu of cultivated land—equivalent to 5.46 mu per capita. To implement the “Implementation Plan for Promoting the Integrated Advancement of Specialized Unified Pest Control and Green Pest Management in Crop Production” issued by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the region will establish a series of demonstration bases that integrate green pest control with specialized unified pest management, focusing on corn, potatoes, vegetables, rice, and rapeseed, and setting up 25 such integrated demonstration zones. These initiatives will standardize and operationalize comprehensive, region‑specific, crop‑oriented pesticide‑reduction and pest‑management technologies, serving as models to drive large‑scale adoption and application.
