Over the years, China’s UAV systems have achieved numerous significant milestones. Continuous breakthroughs in the research, development, and industrialization of commercial drones are poised to usher in explosive growth. Globally, demand for industrial‑grade drones continues to rise, with widespread adoption across diverse sectors. Looking ahead, UAVs hold vast potential for application, demonstrating substantial market prospects while also confronting risks and challenges. As highly sophisticated, socially integrated, and strategically critical advanced manufacturing platforms, UAV systems are set to catalyze a new wave of industrial and societal transformation.

Recently, President Xi Jinping has paid multiple visits to UAV enterprises, underscoring the paramount importance and high expectations he places on the UAV systems sector. Relevant authorities, including the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, have designated the development of UAV systems as a key priority within the “Made in China 2025” initiative. Strategic studies and targeted deployments have been launched, accompanied by comprehensive development plans and policy guidance, with concerted efforts to mobilize social resources and promote the sound, orderly growth of China’s UAV systems and related industries. The research, development, and application of UAV systems have emerged as a new engine of economic innovation and growth, propelling China’s UAV sector onto the international stage and positioning it as another distinctive hallmark of “Made in China.”

The Exhibition Value of UAV EXPO CHINA in Beijing

  • A premier platform driven by national strategic emerging industries.Co-organized by authoritative institutions such as the Chinese Society of Optical Engineering and the China Unmanned Aircraft Industry Innovation Alliance, this event is a flagship gathering that aligns with the national low-altitude economy strategy and promotes the high-quality development of the drone industry. With the refinement of regulations like the Interim Regulations on the Flight Management of Unmanned Aircraft, the low-altitude economy has entered a new phase of large-scale growth. The exhibition serves as a pivotal nexus between policy and practice, offering enterprises a national-level platform to seize strategic opportunities and secure a leading position in the industry.
  • Comprehensive coverage across six major segments of the entire industrial chain.Exhibits span six core areas: unmanned aerial systems (including multirotors, fixed-wing aircraft, and industry-specific solutions), core components (such as mission payloads, 5G connectivity devices, and propulsion systems), general aviation and low-altitude economy equipment (e.g., eVTOL aircraft and air traffic management technologies), low-altitude security and drone defense (including countermeasure systems and detection/identification solutions), unmanned system platforms (ground robots, robotic dogs, autonomous vehicles), and intelligent emergency response equipment. From “positive” to “negative” applications—covering both technological innovation and practical deployment—the exhibition fully showcases the cutting-edge achievements of the entire drone and unmanned systems value chain.
  • Bringing together top-tier companies to foster collaborative innovation within the industry.Past editions have attracted leading research institutions such as the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, CASIC, CETC, Rainbow Robotics, and Aisheng UAV, alongside industry leaders including DJI, EHang, Datong, XAG, and Cobit. The exhibition acts as a vital bridge connecting defense contractors, research institutes, and the civilian market, providing exhibitors with an invaluable platform for deep integration with upstream and downstream partners and for collaborative innovation.
  • Converging “positive” and “negative” technologies to set industry trends.Beyond showcasing complete drone systems, the exhibition also highlights anti-drone technologies, underscoring the critical principle that “low-altitude security is the lifeline of low-altitude economic development.” From Zhuoyi Intelligence’s “integrated air-space-ground control cloud platform” to Yunxiang’s portable detection and positioning devices, and from biomimetic intelligence technologies to end-to-end drone defense solutions, the event consistently remains at the forefront of technological advancement, helping companies capitalize on dual opportunities—growth and safety.
  • High‑level forums and precision matchmaking for authoritative empowerment. In parallel with the exhibition, the International Conference on Drone Applications and Defense, specialized technical symposia, industry application forums, and the National Drone Innovation Skills Competition are held. These events focus on前沿 topics such as intelligent unmanned system control, mission payloads, and the low-altitude economy, bringing together global academicians, experts, and corporate leaders. They provide enterprises with a high‑end think tank platform and efficient business‑matching channels, enabling them to gain insights into policy directions, connect with international resources, and showcase their innovative capabilities.

Exhibition Review

From July 5 to 7, 2025, the 2025 International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Applications and Counter‑UAS Technologies, together with the 6th China International Unmanned Aircraft and Unmanned Systems Expo, was successfully held at Phase II of the Beijing National Convention Center. With the theme “Leading All‑Domain Operations, Wingspanning the Future,” the event spanned 20,000 square meters, bringing together more than 500 world‑class exhibitors and attracting over 20,000 professional visitors, who witnessed a comprehensive showcase of the latest breakthroughs and innovations in the global unmanned aircraft sector.

A Strong Exhibitor Lineup Highlights Innovations Across the Entire Industry Chain. At the exhibition, Zhuoyi Intelligence made a powerful debut in the core exhibition area with its independently developed “Integrated Low‑Altitude Security Solution.” Featuring a three‑part technological architecture—“Air‑Space‑Ground Integrated Control Cloud Platform + Intelligent UAV Platform + Anti‑UAS Equipment”—this solution directly addresses the national regulatory imperative of “no security, no low‑altitude operations,” drawing widespread attention. Meanwhile, Tianjin Yunxiang showcased a portable drone detection and positioning device capable of rapidly detecting and identifying unauthorized “black‑fly” drones by intercepting communication signals, while Beijing Hangjing Innovation presented advanced products based on its proprietary bearingless rotor system and redundant flight control system, reaching internationally cutting‑edge standards.

A Rich Array of Concurrent Events Fosters In‑Depth Industry Dialogue. Alongside the exhibition, one opening ceremony and main forum, more than ten specialized technical conferences on unmanned systems, over twenty industry‑application forums, as well as numerous demand‑matching sessions and investment‑financing roadshows were held. Bionic intelligence technologies emerged as key highlights—for example, eagle‑eye‑inspired and bionic polarization‑light techniques that enhance UAV perception and counter‑UAS capabilities. China has already progressed from catching up to keeping pace—and even taking the lead—in this field. Anti‑UAS technologies also became a focal point of discussion, with radar, electro‑optical, radio‑frequency detection, and jamming‑and‑deception methods collectively forming a robust “protective shield” for low‑altitude security. The successful staging of this year’s expo has strongly propelled China’s unmanned aircraft industry toward a closed-loop development trajectory, shifting from a focus on “technology‑to‑applications” to an emphasis on “industry‑driven growth poles.”
