South African Air & Defence Exhibition AAD

The South African Air & Defence Exhibition (AAD) is Africa’s sole aerospace and defence expo integrating both a trade show and an airshow. In recent years, it has become one of the largest contributors to South Africa’s GDP and is regarded as a national asset.Due to prolonged conflicts in certain regions and insufficient investment, Africa’s land transportation infrastructure remains underdeveloped; consequently, air transport plays a pivotal role in fostering economic and trade development, facilitating people-to-people exchanges, and attracting investment across the continent. Currently, both Russia and China are actively expanding their presence in Africa’s aviation market, which holds immense potential. Over the past few years, South Africa has been committed to strengthening its domestic defence capabilities and hopes to collaborate with other nations on joint development initiatives.

At the previous edition of the South African Air & Defence Exhibition (AAD), the total exhibition area reached 25,000 square meters, with 407 exhibitors hailing from China, the United States, Dubai, Turkey, Brazil, Spain, Japan, Italy, Russia, Kenya, and more, drawing approximately 30,000 visitors.

The South African Air & Defence Exhibition (AAD)featured cutting-edge military and civil aviation technologies, attracting exhibitors such as Boeing and Airbus. The showcased aircraft encompassed not only civilian models from Boeing and Airbus but also drew significant attention for military aircraft and firearms from various countries. In addition to official state-owned defense enterprises participating as a group, several specialized vehicle manufacturers, aviation model makers, and suppliers of military apparel, footwear, helmets, and protective ballistic gear also took part.

South African Air & Defence Exhibition AAD tickets are e-tickets. Domestic and international visitors must complete online pre-registration with real-name passport verification. After purchase, the organizer verifies visitor identity. Visitors who do not meet entry requirements may need to submit additional documents. Once approved, you will receive email confirmation or a QR code. On site, present your original passport and confirmation letter to collect a paper badge, or scan the QR code to enter.
