Ghana Food Show AFSProfile
The Ghana Food Show (Africa Food Show, abbreviated as AFS) is one of the largest specialized exhibitions held in Ghana. The Ghana Food Show (AFS) enjoys strong support from the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the China–Ghana Friendship Association, the Ghana Ministry of Business Development, the Ghana Tourism Authority, the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, and the Ghana–China Friendship Association.
Ghana’s food market holds significant potential, yet its local food-processing sector remains underdeveloped. Despite high import tariffs on food products, a substantial portion of Ghana’s food supply is imported, primarily from China. The country does not impose particularly stringent food‑safety requirements; products that meet Chinese food standards are permitted to be sold there.
The rapid growth of Ghana’s youth and middle‑aged population—accounting for 50% of the total—has led to steadily increasing demand for carbonated beverages, fruit juices, and functional drinks. Meanwhile, the tourism sector is expanding, with Ghana ranking among Africa’s top ten tourist destinations; lifestyle changes among middle‑ and upper‑income households; and the proliferation of fast-food chains and supermarkets further drive this trend. With a vast West African market of approximately 250 million consumers, imports of food and beverage products from China have been rising steadily in recent years. The Ghana Food Show (AFS) serves as an ideal trade platform for Chinese food enterprises seeking to enter the Ghanaian—and broader African—market.
Ghana Food Show AFS tickets are e-tickets. Domestic and international visitors must complete online pre-registration with real-name passport verification. After purchase, the organizer verifies visitor identity. Visitors who do not meet entry requirements may need to submit additional documents. Once approved, you will receive email confirmation or a QR code. On site, present your original passport and confirmation letter to collect a paper badge, or scan the QR code to enter.
