Exhibition Introduction
The Value of Exhibiting at the Shanghai Leather Show
- The China International Leather Exhibition (ACLE) is Asia’s largest and most influential professional gathering for the leather industry. In tandem with the Modern China International Footwear, Bags & Fashion Show, it forms a comprehensive, closed-loop international exhibition spanning the entire industry chain—from raw materials and equipment to chemicals and finished products, and from brands to specialized industrial bases. Founded in 1998 and co-organized by the China Leather Industry Association and Asia-Pacific Leather Exhibition Co., Ltd., after more than two decades of development, it has become a global benchmark for leather industry progress and a multifaceted dialogue hub for reshaping the industry chain.
- The core value of participation lies in its platform attributes covering the entire industry chain and its channel advantages for precisely connecting with global procurement resources. The exhibition encompasses all segments of the leather supply chain—raw hides, semi-finished leathers, finished leathers, chemical materials, tanning and shoemaking machinery, footwear and apparel—forming a complete business loop from raw material sourcing to finished product ordering. Professional buyers hail from over 100 countries and regions worldwide, including Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Russia, the United States, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, India, the United Arab Emirates, providing enterprises with a strategic gateway to efficiently engage with international markets.
- The exhibition establishes an international commercial platform linking global markets, bringing together leading brands and industry powerhouses. At the 2025 edition, nearly 1,000 exhibitors from 27 countries and regions participated, including nine international pavilions from Australia, Brazil, France, Italy, Pakistan, Spain, Taiwan, and Uzbekistan, as well as 34 domestic regional pavilions representing Wenzhou, Jinjiang, Haining, Xinji, Baigou, Shiling, and other areas. Renowned international raw material suppliers, leading tanneries, top-tier leather chemical firms, and pioneering smart equipment manufacturers converged, fully demonstrating the exhibition’s strong industry appeal and international standing.
- Keeping pace with industry trends toward “green manufacturing and intelligent upgrading,” the exhibition builds a technological high ground fostering deep integration among industry, academia, research, and application. The 2025 edition adopted the theme “Green Manufacturing Leading a New Industry Ecosystem,” spotlighting cutting-edge achievements such as zero-chromium eco-leather, leather waste liquid recycling technologies, wool-based leathers, and AI-powered intelligent cutting. During the event, more than 30 high-profile activities were held, including the International Leather Industry Summit Forum, the 22nd International Footwear Technology Conference, and the China International Designers’ Summit, covering trend-setting discussions, technical seminars, international summits, and new product launches.
- For Chinese enterprises, this exhibition serves as a strategic gateway to showcase technological prowess, connect with global resources, and expand both domestic and international markets. Leveraging China’s position as the world’s largest producer and consumer of leather, the exhibition offers enterprises an unparalleled opportunity to directly engage with global purchasing decision-makers and secure international orders. At the 2025 edition, Shengyuan Company signed nearly 60 contracts on-site, with total order value exceeding RMB 100 million; the Zhaoyuan delegation achieved aggregate transactions surpassing RMB 100 million; and Dongming Leather saw orders far exceeding expectations. Simultaneously, the exhibition encouraged enterprises to transition from “scale expansion” to “value-driven cultivation,” and from “manufacturing” to “intelligent manufacturing.”
