The Shanghai International Smart Archives Exhibition and Summit Forum (ARCHE) is designed to further promote exchanges and interactions within the archives sector, strengthen awareness of collaboration and cooperation, and foster mutual advancement and shared development. ARCHE comprises three major components—exhibition, summit forum, and academic conference—making it an annual highlight for the archives industry and a comprehensive professional platform for cross-sectoral exchange and cooperation.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, archives, as vital information resources and unique historical and cultural heritage, are increasingly recognized for their value. The foundational and supportive role of archival work in advancing the cause of the Party and the country has become even more prominent. The archives sector is at a critical juncture of strategic opportunity, yet it also faces significant challenges. With living standards rising markedly, public demand for archival information and archival culture continues to grow, urgently calling for accelerated openness of archives, expanded utilization, and the delivery of high-quality, efficient services. Meanwhile, the widespread adoption of next-generation information technologies has brought profound changes to the archival environment, subjects, and content, necessitating innovative approaches, methods, and models to expedite comprehensive digital transformation and intelligent upgrading.
