Review
In 2025, Shanghai’s HiFi headphone sector will host two major events: the CanJam Shanghai Show, held from June 14 to 15 at the Marriott Marquis Shanghai, and the 10th Shanghai International Headphone Exhibition, successfully staged on March 14–15, 2026, at the Shanghai Baohua Marriott Hotel.
At CanJam Shanghai 2025, the exhibition spanned over 2,000 square meters, bringing together nearly one hundred exhibiting brands from China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and other countries, with more than 3,000 professional visitors. The event was organized by , the world’s largest headphone and audio community, marking an important Asian stop in the global CanJam series. Prominent exhibitors included international top-tier manufacturers such as Sennheiser, Audeze, Focal, and HIFIMAN.
This year’s CanJam Shanghai featured a wealth of highlights. China’s premium audio brand HIFIMAN made a high-profile debut with its Shangri-La electrostatic headphone—the pinnacle of global electrostatic technology—and the SUSVARA Unveiled flagship planar‑magnetic model. With its groundbreaking “grille‑free” design delivering an unparalleled soundstage, these models drew long queues of eager listeners. The show showcased everything from entry‑level budget headphones to state‑of‑the‑art audio systems valued at hundreds of thousands of yuan, with numerous new products and cutting‑edge technologies on display. During the event, Chinese acoustic brands, for the first time, broke through patent barriers set by European, American, and Japanese competitors, demonstrating the strength of “Made in China” in the high‑end audio segment.
Concurrently, the 10th Shanghai International Headphone Exhibition took place on March 14–15, 2026, at the Shanghai Baohua Marriott Hotel. Celebrating its tenth anniversary, this edition welcomed over 280 exhibiting brands, with significantly expanded exhibition space and booth capacity—marking the largest scale and highest attendance in the show’s history.
The event boasted a dazzling array of highlights, with new product launches stealing the spotlight. Astell&Kern unveiled its PD20 personalized listening system player, while A&ultima introduced the SP4000 copper‑plated flagship player and the AK HC5 decoding amp, among other debuts. Its booth alone attracted over 1,000 visitors in a single day, setting a record for single‑brand pavilion footfall. LeBee’s exhibit also drew massive crowds, featuring the E7 new card equipped with Cirrus Logic’s CS43122 flagship DAC, limited to just 188 units; the W4 ACG mirror‑finish copper limited‑edition dongle optimized specifically for ACG‑style music hardware; and the LP7 R2R player, presented in dual versions. Many other brands debuted their latest offerings simultaneously: NICEHCK’s Rockies electrostatic flagship, Fosi Audio’s Merak CD player, iFi’s iDSD PHANTOM and Black Pineapple Gryphon, LETSHUOER’s Ember flat‑panel flagship, qdc’s royal line, DITA VENTURA’s ultra‑flagship dynamic driver, and Fangsheng’s Prometheus small‑tail device, among others.
Specialized zones and concurrent activities added vibrancy to the event. The exhibition featured engaging programs such as blind‑listening competitions, blind‑box raffles, cosplay shows, and toluene CLUB equipment comparison sessions, enhancing interactivity and entertainment. Brands like Sennheiser, Audio-Technica, and AKG set up dedicated areas in conference rooms. Admission was free, with attendees receiving a complimentary copy of the “2025 Headphone Yearbook,” drawing large numbers of audiophiles to line up at the entrance.
The event yielded impressive results and generated enthusiastic industry feedback. Participants widely agreed that the Shanghai HiFi headphone exhibitions are not only annual gatherings for audiophiles but also indispensable platforms for the audio industry, providing manufacturers, agents, and distributors with opportunities to connect with customers and even competitors. The shift from traditional audio shows to headphone-focused events reflects a rejuvenation of the HiFi sector, with younger demographics emerging as the driving force. As headphone systems become increasingly tailored to urban living spaces, they have gained widespread appeal. Meanwhile, Chinese acoustic brands, through independent technological innovation, have successfully transitioned from followers to global leaders in defining audio technology, underscoring the growing global influence of “China’s voice.”
