Ordos International Coal and Energy Industry Expo

The 19th Ordos International Coal and Energy Industry Expo 2025 was successfully held from June 24 to 26 at the Dongsheng District Mass Fitness Activity Center in Ordos City. With the theme “Technology Leads, Intelligence Wins the Future,” it is the coal and energy industry’s most important annual event for technological exchange and business matchmaking.

Exhibition Space and Exhibitor Scale Reach Record Highs. This year’s expo featured an exhibition area exceeding 100,000 square meters, attracting 26 energy companies—including those from the Global Fortune 500—42 enterprises from China’s Top 50 coal machinery manufacturers, 27 national specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative “Little Giant” firms, as well as nearly 3,000 companies spanning intelligent, information‑based, unmanned, and digital technologies in the coal mining sector. Total attendance is expected to surpass 100,000. Over 800 dignitaries attended the opening ceremony, including leaders from the energy sectors of 24 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions—such as Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Hebei, Henan, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Yunnan—as well as leaders from several leagues and cities within the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, representatives from national chambers of commerce and industry associations, investment institutions, and experts from research institutes.

Exhibitor Portfolio Demonstrates Internationalization and Leadership. The expo welcomed 26 energy companies from the Global Fortune 500, 42 members of China’s Top 50 coal machinery manufacturers, 27 national specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative “Little Giant” enterprises, leading players in the coal machinery supply chain, and nearly 3,000 companies specializing in intelligent, information‑based, unmanned, and digital solutions for coal mining. Participating entities included over 800 companies across the entire coal and energy value chain, such as China National Energy Group, State Power Investment Corporation, China National Coal Group, China Huadian Corporation, China Mobile, China Coal Science and Technology Group, Shandong Energy Group, Henan Energy Group, Huaihe Energy Holding Group, Yitai Group, Huineng Group, Huawei, Zhengzhou Coal Machinery Group, XCMG, and Shandong Mining Machinery Group.

Cutting‑Edge Technologies Make a Spectacular Debut. Leading mining vehicle manufacturers—including Xiamen King Long, Inner Mongolia Tiechen, Hidi Intelligent Driving, and Beigong Automobile—presented next‑generation green mining trucks, autonomous mining vehicles, driverless wide‑body mining trucks, and all‑electric autonomous mining trucks, along with groundbreaking hard‑core technologies. Meanwhile, the China Coal Research Institute showcased its Sunstone series of large‑scale mine models, while Huawei demonstrated innovative applications of its MineHong technology. Cutting‑edge products from Zhongmei Zhangjiakou, Hancheng Coal Machinery, Zhongjiate, Chongqing Pingshan Electromechanical, Debaite, Xin Sida, Jiaxuan Intelligence, Langkun Wisdom, Shanghai Shanyuan, Chongqing Meiansen, Beilu Intelligent Control, Lanha Electrical, Ward Transmission, Shenzhen Zhenyou, and Jiangsu Sanheng were also on display.

Two Major Breakthroughs Unveiled at the Opening Ceremony. Under the guidance of the Ordos Municipal Government, Ordos Digital Investment Co., Ltd., in collaboration with Huawei, officially unveiled the “Ordos Artificial Intelligence and MineHong Digital Operations Center”—a key industrial internet platform built around AI large models and MineHong technology—opening it to the public nationwide. Additionally, leveraging its full‑chain advantages, China National Coal Group joined forces with Huawei to conduct joint technological research and jointly released the “China National Coal MineHong Smart Equipment and Technology Achievements.”

A Rich Array of Concurrent Events Highlights the Expo. On the afternoon of the opening day, the high‑level academic conference “The Ordos Question” on national energy transformation was held as scheduled. Experts including Academician Wu Qiang of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Foreign Academician Wang Zhonglin of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Vice President Bie Chaohong of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Vice President Wang Wensheng of China University of Mining and Technology, and Ma Junpeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of China National Coal Northwest Energy Chemical Group, offered insightful recommendations on core issues of energy transition. Concurrent with the expo, 17 parallel sessions and forums were organized, including an academic conference on large‑scale models and MineHong technology in the coal industry, an exchange meeting on artificial intelligence and MineHong applications in Ordos’ coal sector, and a high‑end equipment manufacturing investment promotion event.

Strong Response from Exhibitors and Industry Participants. As the chief strategic partner, China National Coal Group was invited to exhibit, showcasing its cutting‑edge products, latest technologies, and integrated solutions for the informatization, intelligentization, and digitalization of coal mines and related industries. Vice President Wang Wensheng of China University of Mining and Technology remarked, “These exhibiting companies represent the highest level of coal technology in China and globally.”

Attendees agreed that since its inception in 2006, the Ordos Coal Expo has evolved from a regional exhibition into a benchmark platform for the national energy industry. This year’s edition, through its combination of exhibition showcases and conference exchanges, comprehensively communicated industry value, rallying momentum to drive China’s coal sector toward low‑carbon, green, intelligent, and high‑end development, while providing technical support and smart solutions for the high‑quality growth of the nation’s energy industry.
