The 19th Ordos International Coal and Energy Industry Expo 2025 was successfully held from June 24 to 26 at the Dongsheng District Mass Fitness Activity Center in Ordos City. With the theme “Technology Leads, Intelligence Wins the Future,” it is the coal and energy industry’s most important annual event for technological exchange and business matchmaking.

Exhibition Space and Exhibitor Scale Reach Record Highs. This year’s expo featured an exhibition area exceeding 100,000 square meters, attracting 26 energy companies—including those from the Global Fortune 500—42 enterprises from China’s Top 50 coal machinery manufacturers, 27 national specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative “Little Giant” firms, as well as nearly 3,000 companies spanning intelligent, information‑based, unmanned, and digital technologies in the coal mining sector. Total attendance is expected to surpass 100,000. Over 800 dignitaries attended the opening ceremony, including leaders from the energy sectors of 24 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions—such as Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Hebei, Henan, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Yunnan—as well as leaders from several leagues and cities within the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, representatives from national chambers of commerce and industry associations, investment institutions, and experts from research institutes.

Two Major Breakthroughs Unveiled at the Opening Ceremony. Under the guidance of the Ordos Municipal Government, Ordos Digital Investment Co., Ltd., in collaboration with Huawei, officially unveiled the “Ordos Artificial Intelligence and MineHong Digital Operations Center”—a key industrial internet platform built around AI large models and MineHong technology—opening it to the public nationwide. Additionally, leveraging its full‑chain advantages, China National Coal Group joined forces with Huawei to conduct joint technological research and jointly released the “China National Coal MineHong Smart Equipment and Technology Achievements.”

A Rich Array of Concurrent Events Highlights the Expo. On the afternoon of the opening day, the high‑level academic conference “The Ordos Question” on national energy transformation was held as scheduled. Experts including Academician Wu Qiang of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Foreign Academician Wang Zhonglin of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Vice President Bie Chaohong of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Vice President Wang Wensheng of China University of Mining and Technology, and Ma Junpeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of China National Coal Northwest Energy Chemical Group, offered insightful recommendations on core issues of energy transition. Concurrent with the expo, 17 parallel sessions and forums were organized, including an academic conference on large‑scale models and MineHong technology in the coal industry, an exchange meeting on artificial intelligence and MineHong applications in Ordos’ coal sector, and a high‑end equipment manufacturing investment promotion event.
