Profile

Since its inaugural edition in 2008, the Beijing Wind Energy Conference – Beijing Wind Power Exhibition (CHINA WIND POWER) has steadily grown, attracting an increasing number of wind energy companies, academic experts, and technical leaders to join the CWP community. Together, they discuss cutting-edge technologies, share best practices, and map out strategies for future development, making CWP a true benchmark and barometer of China’s wind energy industry.

As the industry stands at a new historical juncture and embraces unprecedented opportunities, CWP—this high‑end platform that brings together global expertise and sets the tone for industry trends—will not only deliver a feast of technological innovation but also provide an exceptional chance for the entire sector to gain insights into emerging trends and expand collaborative partnerships.

On this occasion, CWP will take center stage on a grand 100,000‑square‑meter venue, gathering over 1,000 leading enterprises from 45 countries and regions, collectively weaving a vibrant narrative for the future of wind energy. With 120,000 professional visitors and elite figures from across the wind energy community converging, the event will illuminate the path forward for green energy and jointly usher in a bright future for the wind power industry.

Looking back, China’s wind energy sector has achieved a leading position thanks to a confluence of favorable factors. Foremost among these is the country’s vast market potential: with enormous electricity demand, particularly driven by the “dual carbon” goals, there is an intensified push to expand renewable energy capacity. Coupled with abundant natural resources and diverse application scenarios, this environment provides fertile ground for continuous technological advancement.

The robust growth of China’s wind energy market has created significant business opportunities for global manufacturers and related industries. Companies worldwide are closely watching the Chinese market and seek to leverage CWP as a platform to showcase their latest technologies and explore new commercial prospects.

Review

The Beijing International Wind Energy Conference & Exhibition (CWP 2025) was successfully held from October 20 to 22 at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Venue) in Beijing. With the theme “Driving Global Energy Transition and Working Together for Sustainable Development,” the event spanned over 100,000 square meters, attracting nearly a thousand exhibiting companies from more than 20 countries and regions worldwide, as well as over 120,000 professional visitors.

During the exhibition, the “Beijing Declaration on Wind Energy 2.0” was unveiled, reflecting global industry consensus and setting an ambitious target: during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China’s annual new wind power capacity will reach at least 120 million kilowatts, with cumulative installed capacity projected to hit 5 billion kilowatts by 2060.

In terms of technological showcases, leading turbine manufacturers highlighted their latest innovations. Goldwind introduced a trading-type wind turbine equipped with “managerial thinking,” capable of dynamically adjusting its generation strategy in response to electricity price fluctuations. Envision Energy globally launched the Galileo AI wind-storage integrated unit, seamlessly integrating wind turbines, energy storage, and advanced AI-powered energy models. Mingyang Smart Energy unveiled the world’s first 50 MW dual-nacelle floating wind turbine. SANY Heavy Energy presented its SI-242 series of land-based, all-domain compatible turbines, featuring a rotor diameter of 242 meters. CRRC released an AI-enhanced wind turbine system, adopting a technical approach that combines “large model pre-training with fine-tuning of small models.” In the core components segment, Howen Electric launched the industry’s first all-silicon-carbide power cabinet, while Luoyang Bearing showcased the world’s first 16 MW offshore wind turbine main bearing.

More than 25 specialized forums were held concurrently, addressing hot topics such as offshore wind power, rural wind energy, AI-driven intelligent operations and maintenance, hydrogen–electricity synergy, and next-generation energy storage. Leading wind power nations—including Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway—participated through national pavilions; the German delegation organized 19 exhibiting companies.
