The China (Beijing) International Optics Fair (CIOF) was first held in Shanghai in 1985 and relocated to Beijing in 1987. With the approval and support of the then Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade of China (now the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China), it has become China's official and most professional international optics exhibition. In 1997, the China National Glasses Association changed its English name to “CHINA INTERNATIONAL OPTICS FAIR”, highlighting its domestic and international status, as well as the participation and support of global eyewear industry businesses.
