The Exhibition Value of CITE, the Shenzhen International Electronic Information Expo

  • CITE is one of Asia’s largest and most influential events in the electronic information industry. Co‑organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, it serves as a national-level platform showcasing the entire electronic information value chain. Since its inception in 2013, the expo has been successfully held for thirteen editions and is widely recognized within the industry as a leading indicator of China’s electronic information sector development and a pivotal hub for global technological innovation. Leveraging Shenzhen’s strategic position as a global powerhouse in the electronic information industry, the city’s output value reached RMB 2.52 trillion in 2024, accounting for one-sixth of the national total. The event brings together world‑class technology companies such as Huawei, Tencent, BYD, ZTE, TCL, and Skyworth, fostering an end‑to‑end industrial ecosystem that spans chip design, manufacturing and packaging, terminal devices, and internet‑based applications.
  • The core value of exhibiting lies in its unparalleled coverage of the entire industry value chain and the authoritative endorsement of a national‑level platform. The 14th edition scheduled for 2026 is expected to span over 60,000 square meters, featuring more than 1,200 high‑quality domestic and international exhibitors and attracting over 55,000 professional visitors. Notably, the proportion of international attendees continues to rise, reaching 28% in 2025, with participants from the United States, South Korea, Japan, Russia, Southeast Asia, and other regions. These professionals represent diverse sectors including consumer electronics, intelligent driving, 5G IoT, big data, integrated circuits, next‑generation displays, and smart manufacturing, providing exhibitors with a strategic gateway to engage directly with key global purchasing decision‑makers.
  • The expo has established a one‑stop commercial platform covering the entire electronic information value chain. Exhibits encompass eight major segments: consumer electronics, embodied intelligence, large‑scale AI models and AI computing centers, AI‑driven application scenarios, integrated circuits, the low‑altitude economy, electronic components, and specialized and dual‑use electronic technologies. From smart terminals and artificial intelligence to semiconductor fundamentals, the expo systematically showcases innovative achievements across the full spectrum of the industry. Concurrently, more than 50 summits and forums are held, bringing together academicians, experts, and industry leaders to discuss cutting‑edge trends, while a dedicated overseas procurement matchmaking zone facilitates over 150 one‑on‑one, precision‑targeted business meetings in 2025.
  • Keeping pace with three major industry trends—artificial intelligence, embodied intelligence, and the low‑altitude economy—the expo has created a robust technological hub fostering deep integration among industry, academia, research, and application. In 2026, the expo will debut the “AI‑Enabled Manufacturing Transformation Summit,” with participation from China Electronics, China Coal Information, and leading central enterprises and regional giants from the Greater Bay Area. The embodied intelligence zone aligns with national strategies, highlighting cutting‑edge developments such as humanoid robots, robotic dogs, and industrial/service robots. Meanwhile, the low‑altitude economy zone will feature eVTOL aircraft, various unmanned aerial vehicles, and industry‑specific solutions. Additionally, a “Taiwan Technology Pavilion” will be established, drawing 16 leading companies—including Airobotics and MediaTek—to showcase advanced technologies like AI‑assisted driving systems and the Dimensity 9400 chip.
  • For Chinese enterprises, this expo represents a strategic gateway for expanding into global markets, connecting with international resources, and demonstrating their innovative capabilities. Backed by Shenzhen’s “20+8” industrial cluster policy and a supporting multi‑billion‑yuan industrial fund, the expo positions semiconductors, integrated circuits, and artificial intelligence as core strategic emerging industries. In 2025, nearly 100 overseas buyers from 15 countries—including Russia, Canada, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Nepal, and Germany—have been invited to attend and engage in business discussions. Exhibiting companies can leverage this platform to access global procurement networks and seize early opportunities in the intelligent, autonomous, and globally oriented transformation of the electronic information industry.
