The 2025 Shanghai International Exhibition on Powder Material Processing and Conveying Equipment (CPB) was successfully held in June at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. Co-organized by the Powder Technology Branch of the China Building Materials Federation, the Modified Plastics Professional Committee of the China Plastics Association, and other institutions, the event was themed “Intelligent Powder Manufacturing—Conveying the Future.” Concurrent with the exhibition were a series of related activities, including the China Powder Industry Technology Forum and the Powder Conveying Technology Innovation Symposium.

With an exhibition area of 25,000 square meters, the show brought together over 400 exhibiting companies, spanning two halls at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. The exhibitor lineup featured leading domestic and international powder equipment manufacturers, such as Mikron, Naitz, Dandong Baiter, Zhuhai OMEC, Jinan Weina, Jiangsu Miyou, Zhejiang Fengli, and Shandong Huate, as well as powder conveying equipment providers including Beijing Air, Shanghai Manda, Zhejiang Rui’an, and Jiangsu Ouzhuo. Overseas buyers from more than 20 countries and regions—including Japan, South Korea, India, Vietnam, Germany, and the United States—attended to source products, and the three-day event welcomed over 20,000 professional visitors.

The Conveying Technology Zone emerged as the highlight of this year’s show. This dedicated area showcased a comprehensive range of powder conveying equipment, including pneumatic conveying systems, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, belt conveyors, and tube chain conveyors, alongside cutting-edge solutions such as explosion-proof conveying, enclosed conveying, and intelligent conveying technologies. Several companies presented clean‑room conveying systems and explosion‑proof conveying systems tailored for high‑value‑added powders used in lithium‑ion battery materials, pharmaceuticals, food additives, and other applications. According to exhibitors, as downstream industries place increasing emphasis on environmental protection and safety, demand for enclosed and explosion‑proof conveying equipment is growing rapidly.

The New Energy Powder Material Processing Equipment Zone also drew significant attention. Numerous companies exhibited ultrafine pulverizers, air classifiers, and surface‑modification equipment specifically designed for lithium‑ion battery cathode and anode materials, capable of meeting stringent particle size control and morphology requirements for materials such as lithium iron phosphate, ternary materials, and silicon‑based anodes. With the explosive growth of the new energy vehicle and energy storage markets, new energy powder processing equipment has become one of the fastest‑growing segments within the powder equipment industry.

Smart Powder Factories Became the Central Theme of the Equipment Zone. Mikron unveiled its intelligent powder production line control system, enabling automated process control and data collection across crushing, classification, conveying, and packaging stages. Jiangsu Miyou displayed an air‑flow pulverization line equipped with an AI‑powered visual recognition system. Many companies noted that upgrading powder plants with smart technologies not only enhances product quality and consistency but also significantly reduces energy consumption and labor costs.

The China Powder Industry Technology Forum Gathered Industry Experts. The forum invited distinguished speakers, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, professors from Tsinghua University, and the secretary-general of the Modified Plastics Professional Committee of the China Plastics Association, who engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as “Domestic Substitution of Powder Processing Equipment,” “Innovation and Application of Powder Conveying Technologies,” and “Opportunities and Challenges in New Energy Powder Materials.”
