The Value of Participating in the Berlin Coil Exhibition

  • The Berlin Coil and Motor Exhibition (CWIEME Berlin) is the largest and most influential professional event worldwide in the fields of coil windings, transformers, electric motors, and electric vehicle manufacturing.Since its inception in 1996, it has been held nearly thirty times and is widely recognized as a leading indicator of global electromagnetic technology development and a central hub in the electrical engineering supply chain. The 2026 edition, scheduled for May 19–21 at the Berlin Exhibition Center, coincides with the exhibition’s thirtieth anniversary and is expected to witness unprecedented vibrancy and expansion.
  • The core value of participation lies in its unparalleled ability to cover the entire industrial value chain and its concentration of high-caliber, decision-making buyers. The exhibition encompasses all segments of the industry, including coil windings, electric motors, transformers, insulating materials, magnetic materials, and electric vehicle drive systems, forming a complete industrial ecosystem—from raw materials and processing equipment to finished product testing. In 2025, the event attracted over 490 exhibitors from 87 countries, drawing more than 12,000 professional visitors, with 73% arriving with explicit purchasing intentions and over 65% being senior decision-makers. Over 1,800 preliminary technical cooperation agreements were reached on-site, while Chinese exhibitors averaged 45 client engagements, with contract values up 35% year over year.
  • The exhibition aligns with three major industry trends—electric vehicle propulsion, green manufacturing, and intelligent transformation—establishing a robust platform for deep integration among academia, industry, and end-users.For the 2026 edition, the Electric Motor Forum will debut, providing a dedicated forum for the motor industry to engage in in-depth discussions on key issues such as European supply chain localization, innovative material applications, and low-carbon sustainable manufacturing. Concurrently, the globally authoritative EEMODS 2026 forum on motor drive system energy efficiency will also be presented, bringing together engineers, policymakers, and manufacturers from around the world. Special features include the Innovation Zone, the Transmission & Distribution Club (T&D Club), and the C-Suite Club’s high-end closed-door meetings, offering strategic dialogue platforms for industry decision-makers.
  • The exhibition builds an international platform connecting global markets, uniting leading brands and innovative forces.International giants such as Siemens, ABB, Hitachi Energy, General Electric, ThyssenKrupp, Cargill, Magne, and Camelon Energy continue to participate. As Germany serves as the manufacturing hub of the EU, the exhibition enables companies to tap into neighboring high-demand markets like France, Italy, and the Nordic countries, particularly in areas such as new energy vehicles and industrial automation, providing an irreplaceable platform for precisely matching overseas procurement needs with leading enterprises. Cutting-edge technologies—including Austria’s ISOVOLTA high-temperature insulation materials, Switzerland’s Von Roll polyimide nano-coatings, and Italy’s Marsilli 0.1mm ultra-fine coil fully automated production lines—were showcased at the event.
  • For Chinese enterprises, this exhibition represents a strategic gateway to opening up the European premium market, connecting with international resources, and demonstrating innovative capabilities.Chinese companies delivered outstanding performances at the show: CRRC Times Electric unveiled its independently developed hydrogen-powered motor in the China Intelligent Manufacturing Zone; Zhenghai Magnetic Materials exhibited high-performance neodymium-iron-boron magnets; Suzhou Shijun showcased an 800V silicon carbide motor controller; and Zhejiang Jinlong presented high-precision iron core products. Beyond serving as a showcase for technological innovation, the exhibition offers Chinese firms a valuable opportunity to enter the European supply chain, compete alongside global industry benchmarks, and foster meaningful collaborations.
  • The 2026 Berlin Coil and Motor Exhibition (CWIEME Berlin) will be held at the Berlin Exhibition Center from May 19 to 21, 2026.Under the theme “The Intersection of Power and Progress,” the exhibition celebrates its thirtieth anniversary, bringing together innovative forces from across the global electrical engineering supply chain to jointly shape a sustainable future for power and mobility.

Review

The CWIEME Berlin 2025, the International Exhibition for Coils and Motors, was successfully held at the Berlin Exhibition Center from May 20 to 22, 2025. Organized by the UK-based Hyve Group, this edition marked nearly three decades of the event’s history and stood as a premier annual gathering for the global electromagnetic technology and electrical engineering industries.

In terms of scale, the exhibition brought together over 490 exhibitors from 87 countries and regions, attracting more than 12,000 professional visitors, with international attendees accounting for over 70%. Spanning approximately 40,000 square meters, the show showcased cutting-edge advancements across the entire value chain, including coil windings, transformers, electric motors, generators, insulating materials, magnetic materials, and electric vehicle drive systems. The atmosphere at the venue was highly technical, and the official “Connect @ CWIEME” matchmaking platform facilitated precise B2B appointments, resulting in over 1,800 preliminary agreements on technological collaborations.

This year’s event featured several highlights, with the inaugural “Transformer Hub” emerging as a central attraction. For the first time, a dedicated Transformer Zone was established in Hall 27, bringing together transformer-related exhibitors into a focused cluster. This innovative approach significantly enhanced technical exchanges and business connections within this specialized segment. Additionally, the exhibition hosted a Central Stage agenda, presenting more than 75 expert sessions on pressing topics such as supply chain resilience, sustainable material applications, manufacturing automation, and electrification, drawing large audiences of industry professionals. The Transmission & Distribution Club (T&D Club) provided an efficient networking platform for OEMs, transmission and distribution system providers, and grid operators, while the C-Suite Club offered high-level closed-door meetings for industry leaders.

The professional visitor base was robust, with buyers of exceptional quality. The event attracted engineering, procurement, and R&D professionals from around the globe, with 73% of attendees arriving with clear purchasing intentions and over 65% being decision-makers. Dieter Renner, Head of Marketing and Sales at Hitachi Energy, remarked, “Globally, CWIEME is the only industry event of such influence.” Armando Pastore, Product and Business Leader at GE Vernova, added, “This is my fifth participation, and we remain committed to attending annually because it offers a rare opportunity to bring suppliers, customers, and potential clients together.”

The exhibition yielded impressive results and received widespread acclaim from the industry. Exhibitors reported high-quality professional audiences, well-defined purchasing objectives, and significant commercial outcomes. Chinese exhibitors, on average, engaged with 45 clients and recorded a 35% year-over-year increase in contract values. Christophe Cesar, EMEA Commercial Manager at Cargill, noted, “CWIEME provides a unique opportunity to connect with European manufacturers and global partners—something no other trade show can match.” Attendees agreed that CWIEME Berlin not only serves as an excellent platform for brand exposure and business matchmaking but also functions as a critical hub for gaining insights into global trends in electromagnetic technologies and exploring pathways toward green and intelligent transformations in electrical engineering.

The CWIEME Berlin 2026 is scheduled to take place at the Berlin Exhibition Center from May 19 to 21, 2026. Celebrating its thirtieth anniversary, the upcoming edition will be themed “The Intersection of Power and Progress,” introducing the Electric Motor Forum for the first time—a dedicated platform for Europe’s motor industry. The Transmission & Distribution Club (T&D Club) will expand its capacity to host additional corporate delegations, while the C-Suite Club will evolve into an exclusive, high-end environment for industry leaders. The exhibition will continue to serve as a vital platform for fostering efficient communication and collaboration across the global electrical engineering sector.
