Exhibition Introduction
The Value of Participating in the Hong Kong Food Expo PRO
- One of Asia’s Most Influential B2B Platforms for the Food Industry: Hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Food Expo PRO serves as the B2B extension of the Hong Kong International Food & Beverage Fair, co-occurring with the Food Fair, the Hong Kong International Tea Fair, the Beauty & Wellness Expo, and the Home Appliances & Home Furnishings Expo. Since its inception, the event has become a key professional procurement and business collaboration platform for the Asian food sector, widely recognized as the gateway for global food companies seeking access to Hong Kong and broader Asian markets.
- A One-Stop Showcase Covering the Entire Food Supply Chain: The exhibition encompasses all stages of the food value chain—food and beverages, halal products, coffee and tea, alcoholic drinks, functional foods, future foods, food technology, packaging, and testing/certification services. From fresh ingredients to processed foods, from traditional delicacies to alternative options, and from raw material sourcing to quality assurance, exhibitors can complete end-to-end connections—from product display and brand exposure to commercial negotiations—within a single venue.
- Precise Alignment with Core Asian and Global Buyers and Distribution Channels: In 2025, the exhibition brought together approximately 1,890 exhibitors from 36 countries and regions, attracting 18,500 industry buyers from 64 countries. Buyer segments include importers, distributors, retailers, catering purchasers, e-commerce platforms, and other omnichannel procurement entities. The top five source markets are Mainland China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, along with ASEAN countries such as Cambodia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, highlighting Hong Kong’s status as a central hub for global food trade.
- Unique Value for Chinese Enterprises—A Strategic Engine for Expanding into International Markets: As a vital bridge linking Mainland China with global markets, Hong Kong hosts over 20 regional pavilions, including China’s agricultural national pavilion, which showcases nearly 1,000 agri-food products from 13 provinces. Chinese companies can leverage this platform to connect with international buyers, understand overseas market access requirements, and obtain halal certification and other internationalization services. During the event, Hunan Mayang Lanfeng Agricultural Company signed a RMB 60 million contract with a Hong Kong client, while Sichuan Sentaiyuan Biotechnology, participating for the fourth consecutive year, secured a deal worth over US$500,000 on the opening day.
- A Vanguard for Technological Innovation and Industry Trends: The “Food Science and Technology” focus area gathers alternative and future foods, capturing opportunities in the silver economy. Halal certification has also become a major focus, with a 20% increase in Halal-certified exhibitors in 2025, including over 120 food suppliers from Mainland China, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and other regions promoting halal products. A dedicated coffee zone was established for the first time, showcasing coffee products, accessories, and brewing equipment from around the world.
- A Platform for Deep Integration with High-End Forums and Industry Resources: Concurrent with the exhibition, an international conference on modernizing traditional Chinese medicine, food technology seminars, and tea culture lectures were held, with 21 speakers sharing innovations in the globalization of TCM. The event continues to adopt the “EXHIBITION+” hybrid online-offline model, allowing exhibitors and buyers to maintain virtual business connections via the Click2Match intelligent matching platform for one week after the show.
- Hong Kong’s Geographical and Industrial Advantages: As an international free-trade port and global financial center, Hong Kong boasts convenient transportation networks and a comprehensive commercial service system. Leveraging its strategic position as a “super connector,” Food Expo PRO provides exhibitors with a platform to engage with Mainland China, ASEAN, and global markets.
