The Exhibition Value of the Hong Kong Food & Beverage Expo (Food Expo PRO)
- One of Asia’s most influential B2B trade platforms for the food industry: Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Hong Kong Food & Beverage Expo (Food Expo PRO) serves as the B2B extension of the Hong Kong Food Expo. Held concurrently with the Food Expo, the Hong Kong International Tea Fair, the Beauty & Wellness Expo, and the Home Appliances & Home Furnishings Expo, the event has, since its inception, become a key professional procurement and business‑cooperation platform for the Asian food sector, widely recognized within the industry as the gateway for global food companies seeking to enter the Hong Kong and broader Asian markets.
- A one‑stop showcase covering the entire food value chain: The exhibition encompasses the full spectrum of the food and beverage industry, including halal foods, coffee and tea, alcoholic beverages, functional foods, future foods, food technology, as well as food packaging and testing‑certification services. From fresh ingredients to processed products, from traditional delicacies to alternative foods, and from raw material supply to quality‑assurance testing, exhibitors can seamlessly connect—from product presentation and brand exposure to commercial negotiations—within a single venue.
- Precise matchmaking with core buyers and distribution channels across Asia and globally: In 2025, the expo will bring together approximately 1,890 exhibitors from 36 countries and regions, attracting 18,500 industry buyers from 64 countries and territories. Buyer segments span importers, distributors, retailers, catering procurement specialists, e‑commerce platforms, and other omnichannel purchasing entities. The top five source markets include Mainland China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, along with ASEAN nations such as Cambodia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, underscoring Hong Kong’s pivotal role as a global hub for food trade.
- Unique value for Chinese enterprises—strategic engine for international market expansion: As an essential bridge linking Mainland China with global markets, Hong Kong hosts more than 20 regional pavilions at the expo. The Mainland China Agricultural National Pavilion showcases nearly 1,000 agricultural and food products from 13 provinces. Through this platform, Chinese companies can engage with international buyers, gain insights into overseas market access requirements, and obtain halal certification and other internationalization services. During the event, Hunan Mayang Lanfenghua Agricultural Company signed a RMB 60 million contract with Hong Kong clients for agricultural product supply; meanwhile, Sichuan Sentaiyuan Biotechnology, a four‑year exhibitor, closed deals exceeding USD 5 million on the first day of the expo with long‑term partners.
- Frontier of technological innovation and industry trends: The “Food Science and Technology” focus area brings together alternative and future foods, capturing opportunities in the silver‑age market. Halal certification has emerged as a major highlight, with a 20% increase in halal product suppliers in 2025—over 120 food vendors from Mainland China, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and other regions promoting halal offerings. A dedicated coffee zone has been introduced for the first time, showcasing coffee products, accessories, and brewing equipment from around the world.
- In‑depth connections through high‑level forums and industry resources: Concurrent with the expo, events such as the International Conference on the Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Food Technology Symposium, and tea‑culture lectures enrich the program, with 21 speakers sharing groundbreaking innovations in the globalization of TCM. The expo continues to employ an “EXHIBITION+” hybrid online‑offline model, enabling exhibitors and buyers to maintain virtual follow‑up discussions via the Click2Match intelligent matching platform within one week after the event concludes.
- Hong Kong’s locational and industrial advantages: As an international free‑trade port and a global financial center, Hong Kong boasts a highly convenient transportation network and a sophisticated commercial service ecosystem. Leveraging its strategic position as a “super connector,” Food Expo PRO provides exhibitors with a robust platform to engage with Mainland China, ASEAN, and markets worldwide.
