Indonesia International Military, Police, Defense, Navy, and Air Force ExhibitionProfile
The Indo Defence Exhibition, Indonesia’s premier and only platform for showcasing military and civilian aerospace products, maritime technologies and solutions, and defense‑related equipment, serves as a vital hub where numerous defense‑industry companies converge to stay abreast of industry news and emerging trends. Exhibitors gain valuable opportunities to present their offerings to an international audience and forge strategic partnerships with Indonesian defense‑sector players.
Hosted by the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, the event is jointly organized and supported by key government agencies, including the Indonesian Air Force, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Transportation, and the Ministry of Trade. In response to repeated domestic terrorist attacks, the Indonesian Ministry of Defense initiated a modernization program in 2011, with defense spending reaching US$7.3 billion in 2012. By 2017, the sector was projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 22.4%, expanding to a market value of approximately US$18.2 billion.
In addition to static displays within the indoor exhibition halls, the Indo Defence Exhibition features outdoor demonstration zones where cutting‑edge land, sea, and air systems are showcased in live operational settings. The event also includes a comprehensive schedule of thematic seminars and panel discussions, offering insights into the latest global trends shaping the defense industry. Approximately 6,000 military and government delegates are expected to attend, including representatives from both domestic and international airlines, the armed forces—land, naval, and air—police forces, defense authorities, national security agencies, the Indonesian government, as well as local defense‑equipment manufacturers, agents, distributors, and professional buyers from around the world.
Providing a window into the latest developments across the global defense landscape, the Indo Defence Exhibition represents an ideal trade platform for Chinese defense, security, and aerospace enterprises seeking to expand into the ASEAN market.
