Exhibition Introduction
The Value of Participating in the Riyadh Communication Technology Exhibition
- LEAP is the world’s largest technology event in terms of attendance. Since its inception in 2022, it has rapidly grown into the third-largest information, electronics, and technology exhibition globally, earning acclaim as the “Digital Davos” and a leading indicator of technological innovation in the Middle East. Organized by the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the fourth edition in 2025 carried the theme “Towards a New World,” bringing together over 1,800 global tech innovators and attracting more than 210,000 professional visitors from over 80 countries and regions, who witnessed the signing of numerous initiatives, agreements, and investment projects.
- The core value of participation lies in its ability to precisely connect exhibitors with the trillion‑dollar digital transformation market of Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East. Saudi Arabia is advancing its “Vision 2030,” aiming to invest over SAR 12 trillion (approximately US$3.2 trillion) domestically by 2030, with strategic projects such as special economic zones and digital infrastructure upgrades continuously generating substantial demand. During the 2025 exhibition, Saudi Arabia announced new investments totaling US$14.9 billion in artificial intelligence, highlighting its pivotal role in shaping the global digital future. Among the professional attendees, 57% were buyers from over 80 countries, providing exhibitors with a strategic gateway directly to key decision‑makers across the Middle East.
- The exhibition offers a one‑stop commercial platform covering the entire communications technology value chain. Exhibits span artificial intelligence, 5G networks, cloud computing, IoT, smart cities, robotics, smart manufacturing, AR/VR, smart vehicles, and other categories, with dedicated pavilions for service robots, specialized robots, and futuristic living. The 2025 edition featured over 1,500 emerging tech startups and 500 international speakers, including strategic sponsors such as Microsoft, Cisco, KPMG, and Ericsson.
- The exhibition aligns closely with three major industry trends—artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and smart cities—creating a robust hub for deep integration among academia, industry, research, and application. Huawei showcased its PanCloud large‑scale model with a three‑tier architecture and the Huawei Cloud Stack 8.5 solution, signing a smart city cooperation agreement with the King Abdullah Financial District; Lenovo announced the establishment of its Middle East and Africa regional headquarters in Riyadh and the construction of a new manufacturing base; Tencent Cloud revealed plans to build its first Middle Eastern data center, investing over US$150 million in infrastructure and resources; China Mobile International presented end‑to‑end digital services and released the “Blue Paper on Digital Transformation of Chinese Enterprises Operating in Saudi Arabia.”
- For Chinese enterprises, this exhibition serves as a strategic gateway to tap into the Middle Eastern market, connect with global resources, and showcase their innovative strengths. In 2025, more than 60 Chinese companies participated, including Huawei, ZTE, Alibaba, China Mobile International, DJI, SenseTime, Xiaomi, and other leading firms. UBTECH demonstrated industrial solutions using humanoid robots, promoting AI education in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and other Middle Eastern countries; smart wearable device manufacturers reported that Saudi Arabia has become their largest overseas market. Chinese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Chang Hua, encouraged Chinese enterprises to leverage their competitive advantages and help elevate China–Saudi technological cooperation to a new level.
