China (Shanghai) International Metallurgical Industry Exhibition

The 23rd China International Metallurgical Industry Exhibition 2025 was successfully held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from August 8 to 10, 2025. This edition of the exhibition opened concurrently with the inaugural China International Steel Week and the second Steel Structure Building Industry Chain Exhibition. Hosted by the China Iron and Steel Association and co-organized by the Metallurgical Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Metallurgical Industry International Exchange and Cooperation Center, it stands as a premier annual event in the global metallurgical industry.

In terms of scale, this year’s exhibition attracted nearly 600 renowned domestic and international enterprises, spanning three days. Compared with previous editions, the number of participating companies has grown steadily, underscoring the event’s strong industry influence and market dynamism. The exhibition area covers the entire metallurgical value chain, showcasing green steel products, innovative production technologies and equipment, energy-saving and low-carbon solutions, as well as smart manufacturing and industrial automation systems.

This year’s exhibition is firmly anchored in the theme “Green, Smart, Win-Win,” highlighting cutting-edge advancements across the sector. In his opening address, Jiang Wei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President & Secretary-General of the China Iron and Steel Association, noted that an increasing number of leading enterprises throughout the steel industry chain are actively participating. The event brings together the most advanced metallurgical technologies, state-of-the-art equipment, and forward-looking integrated solutions from both domestic and international sources, not only demonstrating the latest achievements of the steel industry but also providing a valuable platform for exchange, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

Industry leaders made a prominent appearance, with brand launches and high-profile signing ceremonies adding significant highlights. Domestic steel giants such as Ansteel Group, Shougang Group, HBIS Group, CITIC Special Steel, Baosteel Group, and Jingye Group showcased their latest technological breakthroughs. HBIS Group, under the theme “Accelerating the Transformation of Green and Low-Carbon Advantages into Core Competitiveness,” presented its brand image and development milestones through physical exhibits, scale models, and video presentations. Meanwhile, Ansteel Group officially launched its ANTHICK medium‑thick plate brand during the exhibition, while Tail Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Yanshi Information Technology Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement, marking another major highlight of the event.

Parallel events were of high caliber and professional standard, further empowering industry development. During the exhibition, the Fourth China International Steel Conference convened over 1,000 participants, including overseas delegates from nearly 30 countries and regions—such as Italy, Germany, Australia, Japan, Brazil, India, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Belgium, South Korea, the United Kingdom, the United States, Austria, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, and France. More than 270 representatives from foreign-invested enterprises, spanning nearly 60 such companies, attended. Over 40 bilateral and multilateral meetings between China and ASEAN, Uzbekistan, and other partners were held on the sidelines, establishing a high‑level platform for Sino‑foreign industry dialogue.

The Steel Structure Building Industry Chain Exhibition was held concurrently, fostering synergistic development across the upstream and downstream sectors. The second Steel Structure Building Industry Chain Exhibition showcased the latest collaborative innovations along the value chain, supporting the industrial application of high‑performance steels and intelligent construction technologies, thereby advancing the coordinated growth of the steel structure building sector. Zhu Guosen, Deputy General Manager of Shougang Group, emphasized that hosting a series of key exhibitions helps strengthen cross‑industry communication and collaboration, continuously propelling the internationalization of China’s steel industry.

The exhibition yielded impressive results and received enthusiastic acclaim from the industry. Exhibiting companies widely reported that this year’s event reached new heights in both scale and professionalism, drawing a distinguished global audience of high‑caliber professionals and generating sustained momentum for networking and business opportunities.
