From August 13 to 15, 2025, the 14th Shanghai International New Energy Vehicle Technology and Ecosystem Expo (NEAS CHINA 2025) was successfully held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. This edition of the expo was themed “Embracing New Development, Smartly Linking the Future,” co-organized by the China Electrotechnical Society, the Shanghai Society of Automotive Engineers, and Inforex Exhibition (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and has become a flagship annual event for the new energy vehicle industry.

In terms of scale, the exhibition covered an area of 70,000 square meters, bringing together 1,162 exhibitors from around the world and attracting 65,734 professional visitors, including over 60,000 domestic attendees and 5,826 international visitors, spanning 36 countries and regions—marking a record-high number of overseas participants. Exhibitors included well-known companies across the automotive supply chain, such as NIO, Tesla, Proton Motors, CRRC Times Electric Drive, Shanghai Electric Drive, Ruipu Lanjun, Baolong Technology, Tianhai, Jieyi Technology, Gaosong Technology, Jinbei Electric, Silbao Technology, Saudi Basic Industries, Gore, Huawei Electronics, and hundreds of other leading enterprises.

This year’s expo featured numerous highlights, with a notably high degree of international participation and significant success in business matchmaking. The opening ceremony was jointly inaugurated by distinguished guests including Zhou Weidong, President of the Machinery Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade; Han Yi, Secretary-General of the China Electrotechnical Society; and Yao Jie, Supervisor and Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. The event drew professional visitors from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, Thailand, India, Colombia, Argentina, Spain, Brazil, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Venezuela, and many other countries. During the show, the “2025 China Shanghai Automotive Supply Chain OEM–Tier 1 Matchmaking Event” brought together numerous renowned domestic and international automakers and Tier 1 suppliers, who presented specific procurement needs. Through one-on-one, precision‑driven matchmaking sessions, the event actively facilitated resource alignment and collaborative innovation within the global automotive industry, generating a highly dynamic atmosphere of exchange.

A rich array of concurrent events created a premier platform for industry dialogue. Throughout the exhibition, more than 20 cutting-edge technical seminars were held, focusing on hot topics such as new energy vehicle technologies, advanced electric drives, artificial intelligence, embodied intelligent robotics, and future urban mobility. Over 300 speakers shared their insights, presenting hundreds of presentations on the latest trends and forward-looking perspectives in the automotive sector. For the first time, the 2025 expo introduced thematic sections dedicated to flying cars and embodied intelligent robots. Delegations from the Shanghai Society of Automotive Engineers, the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Chiang Mai University, the Chuzhou Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Industry Chain Research Group, the Suzhou Robotics Industry Association, and several other industry associations and research institutions also visited the exhibition.

A strong contingent of professional visitors underscored the high quality of buyer engagement. During the event, visiting delegations arrived from the Shanghai Society of Automotive Engineers, the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand, the Chuzhou Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Industry Chain Research Group, the Suzhou Robotics Industry Association, and other prominent industry bodies and research institutions. Exhibiting companies widely reported that the quality of professional visitors was exceptionally high, with clear purchasing objectives, resulting in highly effective business matchmaking. According to data from the 2025 expo, 95% of exhibitors expressed satisfaction with the outcomes, while 90% confirmed plans to renew their participation. Tesla remarked that “the caliber of attendees was very impressive,” and Huayu Auto noted that “the results exceeded expectations.”

Outstanding results and enthusiastic industry response. Coinciding with the expo, the “2025 Night of Extraordinary Chinese Automotive Professionals and the China Automotive Supply Chain Star Awards Ceremony” made a striking debut, solemnly honoring outstanding supply chain enterprises, individuals, and products that have driven the development of China’s automotive industry.
