The Exhibition Value of the Wuxi E‑Bike Show

  • Gateway to China’s Core Electric Vehicle Industry Cluster: Wuxi is the nation’s largest R&D and manufacturing hub for electric two‑wheelers, accounting for approximately 40% of national production capacity. Globally, one out of every three electric two‑wheelers is manufactured in Wuxi. The headquarters of two major publicly listed companies, Yadea and Xinri, are both located here, and all ten of China’s leading electric vehicle manufacturers have established production facilities in Wuxi. Participating in this show means gaining deep access to the world’s most concentrated electric vehicle industry cluster, unlocking synergies across R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain networks.
  • One‑Stop Procurement Platform Covering the Entire Industry Chain: The exhibition features a comprehensive range of products, including complete vehicles such as electric bicycles, electric motorcycles, electric tricycles, and low‑speed quadricycles, as well as core components like batteries, motors, electronic controllers, tires, and frames. It also encompasses charging infrastructure, battery‑swap systems, and intelligent manufacturing equipment. From upstream raw materials to downstream finished products, upstream and downstream enterprises connect efficiently, precisely matching the diverse procurement needs of distributors, buyers, and end‑users.
  • International Strategic Launchpad for Global Trade Promotion: Anchored by the mission “Rooted in Wuxi, Connecting the World,” the show forms a powerful synergy with the Indonesia International Two‑Wheeler Expo, inviting international buyers and supporting Chinese companies in expanding into emerging markets. Leveraging Wuxi’s status as a global manufacturing base for electric vehicles, the event serves not only as a domestic trade platform but also as a strategic gateway for companies seeking to tap into overseas markets in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and beyond.
  • Trendsetter in Technological Innovation and Standard‑Setting: Concurrent with the show, industry forums and technical seminars address critical issues such as the implementation of new national standards, lithium‑battery safety, and anti‑tampering measures. Representatives from regulatory authorities, industry associations, and corporate leaders gather to engage in in‑depth discussions on technological advancements and policy directions, making the event an authoritative platform for seizing opportunities in industrial transformation and participating in standard‑setting processes.
  • Convergence of Industry Leaders and Emerging Innovators: Leading整车 manufacturers—including Yadea, Xinri, Tailg, Green, Phoenix, Jinpeng, Wuyang, Julong, Saige, and Forever—regularly participate in the show. Meanwhile, nearly one hundred component suppliers specializing in lithium batteries, chargers, controllers, and motors, such as Saiying, Anruichi, and Wanli, showcase their latest offerings, collectively presenting a vibrant ecosystem of industrial innovation.

Exhibition Review

In June 2025, the 18th Wuxi International New Energy Electric Vehicle Exhibition concluded successfully at the Taihu International Expo Center. With the theme “A New Paradigm, Smart Mobility for the Future,” the event brought together over 200 brand-name companies, spanning an exhibition area of 20,000 square meters across Halls A1 and A3. It showcased the latest advancements in electric two- and three-wheelers, new energy vehicles, intelligent connected technologies, and charging/battery-swapping infrastructure. On the first day alone, visitor numbers exceeded 12,000, underscoring the strong appeal of East China as a leading regional hub for the industry.

Full-Chain Collaborative Upgrades and a Wealth of Technological Highlights

The exhibition featured end-to-end innovation across the entire value chain—vehicles, components, and ecosystem solutions. In the vehicle segment, brands such as Xinri and Tailg unveiled prototype models compliant with the new national standards, while delivery‑specific vehicles from Zhuiguang and Heishao addressed specific operational needs. Differentiated offerings like Wuxing’s solar‑powered electric bike and Sanhui’s self‑balancing tricycle also drew significant attention. In the component sector, lightweight aluminum‑magnesium alloy frames, smart communication modules, and integrated explosion‑proof batteries were prominently displayed, meeting the dual requirements of safety and weight reduction under the new national standards. Meanwhile, in the ecosystem zone, companies including China Tower and Wuxian Chong highlighted battery‑swapping stations and vehicle‑battery integration services, while Taibite’s “55 kg Cloud” solution and China Unicom’s Yanfei module emerged as benchmark examples of intelligent connectivity in action.

Policy and Standards Aligned, Forums Empowering Industry Transformation

The concurrently held “Standards, Safety, Innovation” Industry Summit Forum provided a precise roadmap for implementing the new national standards. Covering everything from high-level policy analysis to detailed testing and certification procedures, the forum systematically examined the technical specifications of GB 17761‑2024, emphasizing compliance pathways such as lightweight design, Beidou positioning, and tamper‑resistant communication modules. Corporate representatives shared practical insights on safety‑related solutions—including battery‑pack encapsulation for explosion protection and cloud‑based dynamic monitoring—highlighting the closed-loop logic of “policy guidance–technological R&D–market adoption.” Additionally, the Jiangsu Provincial Bicycle and Electric Vehicle Association is preparing to establish a specialized committee on charging and battery swapping, aiming to foster collaborative innovation through standardization.

New National Standards Reshape the Industry; Intelligence Takes Center Stage

Although fully compliant finished vehicles were scarce at the show, companies’ technological preparations are already bearing fruit. The stringent requirements of the new national standards regarding battery weight, communication modules, and fire‑retardant materials have prompted accelerated R&D efforts: 4G/5G communication modules and cloud‑based dynamic safety‑monitoring platforms have become standard features, while lightweight designs incorporating aluminum‑magnesium alloy frames and optimized plastic content are widely adopted. Amid this policy window, trade‑in programs drove a notable market uptick in Q1, and with the new standards set to take effect in September, compliant new vehicles are expected to enter mass production. The industry may thus experience a “second spring” between late 2025 and early 2026.
