The 23rd Taiyuan Coal (Energy) Industry Technology and Equipment Exhibition was successfully held from April 22 to 24, 2025, at the Shanxi Xiaohé International Convention and Exhibition Center. With the theme “Green Intelligence, Leading the Future,” this edition set a new record by expanding its total exhibition area to over 135,000 square meters, bringing together more than 1,300 domestic and international exhibitors, including 41 Fortune Global 500 companies, 72 listed enterprises, and over 1,000 out-of-province participants. The total weight of exhibited products exceeded 14,000 tons, and the event attracted 105,000 visitors, marking the largest scale in the history of the show.

The exhibition showcased cutting-edge technological achievements and advanced intelligent equipment across multiple sectors, including coal mining, transportation and support systems, smart mines, 5G applications, green extraction and processing, energy‑saving and emission‑reduction technologies in the coal industry, coalbed methane development and utilization, as well as emerging energy solutions.

Leading Enterprises Compete on the Same Stage

China Coal Science and Technology Group participated for the 23rd consecutive year, meticulously organizing three thematic zones—“Brand Intelligence Linkage,” “Thematic Functional Areas,” and “Mine Intelligence Chain”—focusing on intelligent mining, automated excavation and transportation, and green development. A total of 258 new technologies and pieces of equipment were presented, with the “Coal Sea Dragon” integrated intelligent rapid excavation system drawing particular attention.

At the Jinneng Holding Group’s exhibit, physical models, sand table displays, and informational panels comprehensively highlighted a full‑lifecycle equipment service platform, overburden strata grouting and continuous mining‑filling technology, as well as the Jinbei Coal Mining Subsidence Area New Energy Base—showcasing 77 high‑end devices and innovative green development initiatives. Shanxi Coking Coal Group unveiled an intelligent fully mechanized mining system capable of “remote operation and unmanned mining.” Meanwhile, Lu’an Chemical Group emphasized its end‑to‑end industrial chain transformation from coal to oil, exhibiting high‑value products such as coal‑based synthetic lubricants and specialty waxes.

Digital Intelligence Empowers the Future

Huawei showcased its “Smart Mine Solution 2.0” and collaborated with Shanxi to establish the nation’s first provincial‑level coal industry Internet of Things platform. Centered on an AI large model, this platform has created a new paradigm characterized by “one cloud, thousands of pathways, tens of thousands of applications, millions of terminals, and limitless data elements.” At the exhibition, 5G‑enabled smart control consoles, autonomous inspection robots, and digital twin systems emerged as standout highlights. Digital twin models displayed through AR glasses, real-time safety alerts, and self‑navigating robotic miners collectively painted a vivid picture of an intelligently powered energy future.

High‑Level Forums Provide Authoritative Insights

Concurrent with the exhibition, a series of thematic events—including technical exchanges on green and intelligent coal mining, as well as launch ceremonies for new equipment, technologies, and processes—were held. Renowned experts such as Huang Zenghua, Deputy Director of the National Key Laboratory for Unmanned Coal Mining Technologies; Liu Jiangong, Director of the National Key Laboratory for Energy‑Saving Coal Mining Technologies; and Jiang Pengfei, Chief Scientist of China Coal Science and Technology Group, along with executives from Huayang Group, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and Shanxi Jinyun Interconnect Technology Co., Ltd., delivered keynote speeches.
