Exhibition Introduction
The Value of Participating in the Shanghai Trendy Figure Exhibition
- The Shanghai Trendy Figure Exhibition (Wonder Festival, or WF) is the world’s largest and longest-running figure model show. Founded in 1984 by Japan’s Kaiyodo, it has evolved into a legendary event cherished by model enthusiasts worldwide. First held outside Japan in Shanghai in 2018, it has since become the largest and most professional benchmark among similar exhibitions in China. Organized exclusively by Bilibili, leveraging its position as China’s most active community for figure‑model interests, the exhibition has established a core platform fostering deep interactions among brands, creators, and consumers.
- The core value of participation lies in its precise role as a bridge connecting the global model‑toy industry chain with its key consumer base. At the 2025 exhibition, over 400 global brand exhibitors and more than 2,000 individual creators took part, presenting over 100,000 exhibits and drawing more than 120,000 attendees in just two days, with tickets for the first day selling out in four minutes. Among the professional audience, model enthusiasts and collectors constitute a significant proportion, with clear purchasing intentions—making the exhibition an essential annual destination for replenishing collections. Many attendees even bring small carts to stock up, demonstrating exceptionally high consumption enthusiasm and conversion rates.
- The exhibition provides a one‑stop commercial platform covering the entire model‑toy industry chain. Brand exhibitor zones gather globally renowned manufacturers, with international giant Bandai Namco’s TAMASHII NATIONS announcing a new METAL BUILD initiative on site, unveiling new products such as those inspired by “Digimon” and “Godzilla.” Meanwhile, 52TOYS showcased its original IP, BEAST BOX, whose co‑branded product with “Alien” sold out immediately upon release, and its first official novel, “BEAST BOX: Song of Metal,” sparked a buying frenzy. Domestic original brand MOSHOWTOYS reported that its exhibition‑exclusive items sold over a thousand units within two days, validating the exhibition’s strong commercial conversion efficiency.
- The “same‑day licensing system” is a key institutional advantage of WF, significantly boosting creators’ engagement. Individual prototype artists can display and sell works based on open‑licensed IPs during the exhibition, while Bilibili leads the way in opening up its own licensed properties and collaborating with over 35 prominent domestic IPs, bringing the total number of partnered IPs to 62—including 19 popular titles such as “Elden Ring,” “Dark Souls,” and “Berserk.” Personal pavilion participation exceeded 2,000 creators, up 11% from last year, with a return rate of 74% among former exhibitors, highlighting the strong recognition of the platform within the creator community.
- For Chinese enterprises, this exhibition serves as a strategic gateway to showcase original strengths, connect with global resources, and achieve brand upgrades. Domestic original model brands like Brucoco unveiled a brand‑new category, “Building Block Cars,” along with three major product lines—“Nature Collection,” “Miracle Q‑Version,” and “Charming Encounter”—and debuted over 40 new building block figures, alongside nearly 30 BFC pieces, demonstrating China’s innovation in assembly toys. Since launching its BEAST BOX series in 2016, 52TOYS has released over 300 products, using the exhibition to transition from “product export” to “cultural export.” At the venue, “Guochao figures” became a trending theme, with Chinese cultural icons such as Monkey King, Nezha, and White Snake rendered as miniature sculptures, successfully breaking into wider audiences.
