Medical Device Exhibition in Miami, USAProfile

The World Health Expo Miami is the largest medical‑industry trade show in the southeastern United States. In addition to exhibiting companies and professional buyers primarily from Florida, it attracts a significant number of participants from Latin American countries. Many products and devices are re‑exported through Florida to neighboring Caribbean nations and markets.

The United States is the world’s largest producer and consumer of medical products, supplying 40% of global medical supplies while accounting for 37% of worldwide medical‑device consumption. Located in the southeastern U.S., Florida regards medical‑device import and export as one of its key economic indicators, with the medical‑device and instrument manufacturing sector serving as a leading industry. At the previous edition of the World Health Expo Miami, the total exhibition space covered 40,000 square meters, hosting 680 exhibitors from China, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, and other regions, with attendance reaching 32,000 visitors.

The U.S. medical‑device industry grows at an annual rate of approximately 10%, with a trade surplus of roughly USD 5 billion. U.S. manufacturers are characterized by their adoption of cutting‑edge production technologies, the development of high‑performance products, and substantial investment in R&D for new innovations. Surgical and diagnostic instruments constitute the largest segment of the U.S. medical industry, accounting for 40% of output, encompassing anesthesia equipment, pathology analyzers, blood pressure monitors, blood‑transfusion systems, catheters, surgical clamps, diagnostic tools, hemodialysis machines, hypodermic syringes, respiratory therapy devices, operating tables, oxygen cylinders, suction apparatus, bone plates, screws, and more.

To reduce costs, many U.S. medical‑product manufacturers opt to import lower‑tier components and consumables. Chinese enterprises can source these materials from the U.S., process them locally, and then export finished products—such as medical catheters, surgical instruments, and dental devices—to the U.S. market. The growing popularity of home healthcare has also elevated the importance of low‑tech medical devices. Chinese firms may consider exporting household medical devices to the continental U.S., including insulin injectors, home blood pressure monitors, and compact, user‑friendly, high‑efficiency equipment and supplies. Low‑priced medical products enjoy strong demand in the southeastern U.S., with many items transshipped through Florida to Caribbean nations. By participating in regional trade shows, such as the World Health Expo Miami, Chinese companies can effectively market their equipment and products directly to the U.S. or channel them into Caribbean countries and territories.

The Exhibition Value of the WHX Miami Medical Device Show

  • North America’s Largest and Most Influential Specialized Medical Device Event in the U.S. and Latin America: Hosted by Informa Markets, WHX Miami (World Health Expo Miami) traces its origins to FIME, founded in 1991, boasting over three decades of history. In 2025, it was officially rebranded as WHX Miami, becoming a cornerstone of Informa’s global medical exhibition portfolio. Recognized by Trade Show Weeks as one of the fastest-growing exhibitions in recent years, WHX serves as a pivotal bridge connecting the North American and Latin American medical device markets.
  • A One-Stop Platform Covering the Entire Industry Chain: The show features nine major product categories, spanning medical equipment and devices, medical imaging, diagnostic tools, laboratory technologies, disposables and consumer products, orthopedics and physiotherapy, IT systems and solutions, healthcare infrastructure and assets, pharmaceuticals and nutrition, as well as medical and ancillary services—covering every link in the value chain.
