Miami Beach Convention Center
Miami Beach Convention Center
The Miami Beach Convention Center was proposed for construction in 1955 in Miami Beach to boost commerce and the emerging tourism industry. Concentrated in South Beach, the venue began construction in August 1956. Initially, the proposed location was named the "Miami Beach Convention Hall". After two years of construction, the center was completed in September 1958 and officially opened in October 1958. Spanning over 92,900 square meters, it was referred to as the "Miami Beach Convention Hall", known as the "Largest Exhibition Center in the South". Adjacent to the exhibition hall is the Miami Beach Auditorium, a historic venue. In 1989, the facility underwent a $92 million renovation, doubling its size. Over the past six years, the facility has received over $35 million in ongoing upgrades, including complete renovations of all restrooms, replacement of all carpets, and installation of state-of-the-art telecommunications and network infrastructure.
