BEXCO, also known as the Busan Exhibition & Convention Center, is a representative exhibition center in South Korea located in Haeundae-gu, Busan. It was the venue for the group stage matches of the 2002 FIFA World Cup and hosted events such as ITU Telecom Asia in 2004, and the 2005 APEC meetings, showcasing Korea's technology and traditions. In 2007, it was selected as one of the top ten cities for hosting international conferences. BEXCO has been the site of various domestic and international events, including the 2002 FIFA World Cup group activities and the main stadium for the Busan Asian Cup. The construction started in October 1998 and was completed in May 2001. Officially named the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center, it is managed by the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center. The total area spans 17,550 square meters with a three-story building above ground and one underground level, which includes exhibition halls, conference halls, and ancillary facilities. The exhibition hall covers an area of 13,002 square meters, consisting of specialized exhibition halls on the first floor, medium and small exhibition halls on the second and third floors, a permanent exhibition hall in the basement, and an outdoor exhibition hall. This exhibition hall features a single-story column-free structure that can accommodate over 1,800 booths, with a ground load-bearing capacity of 5 tons, and can be adjusted according to customer requirements. The conference hall, covering approximately 13,000 square meters, consists of medium and small meeting rooms on the first and second floors, and a large meeting room on the third floor. The large meeting room can accommodate 2,800 people, equipped with an advanced simultaneous interpretation system in eight languages and a video conferencing system.
BEXCOis equipped with various state-of-the-art facilities necessary for exhibitions. With movable partition walls, it can host a variety of events of different scales. Not only can it host international and domestic exhibitions, but it can also serve as a venue for large-scale conferences, performances, corporate promotions, and sports events. The outdoor exhibition field, covering about 13,223 square meters, is suitable for use as a venue for large-scale exhibitions or various performances and promotions.
