Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center

Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center is a key project determined by the Hainan Provincial Government for 2009, with an estimated initial investment of 5.7 billion yuan. It will be built into a multi-functional integrated area that combines conference, exhibition, hotel, large commercial, and residential facilities. Upon completion, it will become an important platform and carrier for Haikou's development of modern service industry. The center will serve as the meeting facility配套设施for the 2011 Pan-Pearl River Delta Region (9+2) Cooperation and Development Forum. After being put into use, it will end the history of small-scale exhibitions and slow development in Hainan, becoming a high-end service platform for international public and business activities held in Hainan, and it will also be Haikou's unique "city card".

The total construction area of Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center is 119,000 square meters. Among them, the exhibition center covers an area of more than 70,000 square meters. It will be built into a main opening ceremony venue that can accommodate 2,000 people, with 6 exhibition halls, totaling 2,300 standard booths; the conference center covers an area of more than 35,000 square meters, including a multifunctional hall that can accommodate 2,000 people, a theater-style conference hall that can accommodate more than 2,000 people, an international conference hall equipped with simultaneous interpretation system that can accommodate 700 people, and 18 VIP reception halls and other facilities.
