Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center

The Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center is a key project designated by the Hainan Provincial Government in 2009, with an estimated initial investment of RMB 5.7 billion. Upon completion, it will become a multifunctional complex integrating conferences, exhibitions, hotels, large-scale commercial facilities, and residential spaces, serving as a vital platform and catalyst for the development of modern services in Haikou. The center will also function as a supporting venue for the 2011 Pan-Pearl River Delta (9+2) Cooperation and Development Forum. Once operational, it will mark the end of Hainan’s past reliance on small‑scale, slow‑growing trade shows, establishing itself as a premier service hub for hosting international official and business events, while simultaneously becoming a distinctive “city landmark” for Haikou.

The Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center boasts a total floor area of 119,000 square meters. Its exhibition center spans over 70,000 square meters, featuring a main opening‑ceremony hall capable of accommodating 2,000 attendees, six exhibition halls, and a total of 2,300 standard booths. The conference center covers more than 35,000 square meters, including a multi‑purpose hall for 2,000 people, a theater‑style auditorium seating over 2,000, an international conference hall equipped with simultaneous interpretation systems for 700 participants, as well as 18 VIP reception rooms and other ancillary facilities.
