展会简介
The Value of Exhibiting at the Chengdu International Musical Instrument Exhibition (Musical Chengdu)
- The Chengdu International Musical Instrument Exhibition (Musical Chengdu) was founded in 2010 by Sichuan Xinzhonglian Exhibition Service Co., Ltd.It is held annually at the Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center and is the only specialized musical instrument trade show in western China. Against the backdrop of Chengdu’s strategy to become an “International City of Music” and a “National Cultural Creativity Hub,” the exhibition focuses on the Sichuan–Chongqing region and the broader southwest Chinese market, earning recognition within the industry as a leading indicator of western China’s musical instrument sector development and a core platform for companies expanding into the western market.
- A one‑stop showcase covering the entire industry value chain. The exhibition encompasses Western instruments (pianos, wind instruments, strings, percussion, and electronic instruments), traditional Chinese instruments (blowing, plucking, bowing, and percussion types), computer‑assisted composition tools, music education services, sheet music and publications, stage costumes and props, and other segments of the industry’s full value chain. From entry‑level student instruments to professional‑grade performance models, and from traditional ethnic instruments to smart electronic devices, exhibitors can achieve comprehensive engagement—from product display and brand exposure to business negotiations—right here.
- Precise access to key western buyers and channel resources. As western China’s most representative international metropolis, Chengdu boasts vast market reach and mature convention and exhibition infrastructure, making it the ideal frontline venue for instrument showcasing, networking, and sales in the region. Its influence extends to Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Guizhou, Qinghai, Gansu, Shaanxi, and even Ningxia, Tibet, and Xinjiang. In 2025, the exhibition spanned 12,000 square meters, hosted 300 exhibitors, and drew 20,000 professional visitors. The audience comprised instrument importers, agents, and distributors; music stores; music schools and training institutions; orchestras, musicians, and music enthusiasts; and arts organizations—covering all major procurement channels.
- Unique value for Chinese enterprises—fueling westward market expansion. With a population of 83 million in Sichuan and 16 million in Chengdu, Sichuan ranks among China’s five major cities with established music industry bases, underpinned by a strong grassroots music culture. Chengdu has produced renowned artists such as Liao Changyong, Li Yuchun, Zhang Liangying, Tan Weiwei, Yu Kewei, Zhang Jie, and Zhao Lei, fueling robust demand for musical products. With support from authoritative bodies like the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture, Sichuan Conservatory of Music, and the Sichuan Musicians Association, the exhibition provides a strategic platform for instrument manufacturers to enter the western market, connect with regional customers, and promote their own brands.
- Prominent features of public benefit and mass participation. The exhibition strives to be a “cultural stage” for citizens, having organized over 100 community bands and more than 3,000 senior musicians to perform in recent years. Both elderly performers and young children have graced the stage, helping bring high‑quality instruments into countless Chengdu homes. The show has also partnered with the Chengdu International Tea Expo to create a cultural celebration titled “A Rendezvous of Music and Tea,” guided by the theme “Finding a kindred spirit amid高山流水,” where these two traditions harmoniously converge.
- Chengdu’s locational and industrial advantages. As a “city of leisure and entertainment,” Chengdu enjoys exceptionally vibrant commercial activity and cultural consumption. Its extensive market reach positions it as the front line for showcasing, exchanging, selling, and procuring performance‑related equipment in western China. In alignment with the goals set forth at the 13th Chengdu Party Congress to build a “City of Music,” the exhibition contributes to Chengdu’s development as an international center of musical excellence and a national hub for cultural creativity.
