The China–Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE, commonly referred to as the China–Africa Expo) is co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Hunan Province, and stands as one of the most important platforms for economic and trade cooperation under the framework of the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation. The Exhibition Value of the China–Africa Economic and Trade Expo

• A National-Level Economic and Trade Platform under the FOCAC Framework: As a key supporting event of the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation, co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of Hunan Province, it is the highest‑level and largest comprehensive expo between China and Africa. Since its inception in Hunan in 2019, the Expo has evolved into a “golden brand” for China–Africa economic and trade cooperation, providing authoritative endorsement for enterprises seeking to engage in China–Africa partnerships.
• Precision‑Driven, Full‑Chain Connectivity: The Expo aligns closely with Africa’s development priorities—industrialization, agricultural modernization, and green growth—by establishing specialized pavilions for smart mining, clean energy, construction machinery, and modern agricultural equipment. For the first time, a dedicated China–Africa industrial chain cooperation zone has been introduced, facilitating a transition from “single‑commodity trade” to “localized production.” Exhibition content spans emerging sectors such as infrastructure, the digital economy, new‑energy vehicles, and biopharmaceuticals.
• Global Buyer Attraction: The fourth edition of the Expo drew participants from 53 African countries, 11 international organizations, 27 domestic provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, and over 4,700 Chinese and African enterprises. Among them were 137 Fortune Global 500 companies and 190 China Top 500 firms. Additionally, 764 exhibitors from 43 African nations showcased more than 800 distinctive products.
• Efficient and Pragmatic Trade Outcomes: With a focus on expanding economic and trade opportunities, the first three editions collectively secured signed projects totaling over US$53.3 billion, with an implementation rate exceeding 83%. At the fourth edition, 176 signed projects worth US$11.39 billion and 293 matchmaking initiatives valued at US$43.156 billion were announced, while on‑site transactions and letters of intent amounted to RMB 2.5 billion.
• Long‑Term Mechanisms and Innovative Models: A multi‑dimensional cooperation network has been established, integrating the Expo, pilot zones, and enduring institutional frameworks. Innovative approaches such as industry‑production‑trade integration, novel barter trade, and overseas warehousing are being explored. Furthermore, 14 prefecture‑level cities have forged counterpart cooperation mechanisms with 28 African countries, and 17 public overseas warehouses have been deployed across 12 African nations.
