The China International Building Trade Expo—Shanghai Construction Expo—China Building Expo (CBD FAIR) was launched in Guangzhou in 1999, organized by the China Foreign Trade Center, an agency under the Ministry of Commerce. To meet the needs of businesses and the market, in 2015, the China Building Expo expanded to Shanghai, hosting the “Shanghai Construction Expo—Shanghai Architectural & Building Materials Exhibition” at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Hongqiao.

The China International Building Trade Expo—Shanghai Construction Expo—China Building Expo (CBD FAIR) has entered into a strategic partnership with Red Star Macalline. Starting in 2019, the two parties will jointly operate the event, adopting a groundbreaking collaborative model that elevates the Shanghai Construction Expo (CBD) into an international showcase characterized by a compelling mission, profound content, and meticulous attention to detail.

Positioned as an “international high-end customization platform,” the expo is themed “Fostering New Consumption, Serving a New Development Paradigm,” highlighting three key features: revitalizing home‑related consumption in Hongqiao, strategically positioning itself within the broader East China market through Hongqiao, and exploring cutting-edge trends at Hongqiao. With a total exhibition space of nearly 180,000 square meters, the event showcases a diverse array of product categories, including high-end custom solutions, trendy customized offerings, tiles, stone slabs, coatings, and system windows and doors. The venue will also host 40 forums and related events.
