ARTO21 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair was founded in 2013 and is a participating project of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival. The fair brings together top galleries and institutions from around the globe, aiming to create a professional platform for art collectors, artists, patrons, museum directors, and others to exchange ideas and share the latest trends and thoughts in contemporary art. ARTO21 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair adheres to the principle of "rooted locally, looking globally". Today, it has become a bellwether and annual highlight of the Chinese contemporary art market. As a participating project of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival and one of the initiating and core units of the Shanghai International Fine Art Trading Month, ARTO21 supports the development of contemporary Chinese art and cultivates outstanding local collectors, creating a professional and free art trading platform that promotes the prosperity of the Chinese art industry and contributes to the blueprint for a trillion-yuan transaction in Shanghai.

In the face of opportunities and challenges in 2020, ARTO21 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair continued to break new sales records on-site. The fair featured 114 leading galleries from 18 countries and 43 cities, setting up a new PLATFORM online section. Galleries such as GALLERIA CONTINUA, GAGOSIAN, PERROTIN, WHITE CUBE, and DAVID ZWIRNER presented an international all-star lineup. New galleries like 3125C GALLERIA, AISHONANZUKA, and OBJECTIVE participated for the first time, forming a young force that injected new vitality into the fair.

The Design & Jewelry section featured leading design galleries and jewelry brands such as CINDY CHAO, FRIEDMAN BENDA, and NOVALIS CONTEMPORARY ART DESIGN GALLERY, exploring contemporary design and art to create a multi-sensory experience, further enriching the inclusiveness and globalization of the fair, and showcasing the artistic charm under diverse cultures. Art knows no bounds, and we look forward to the gathering of galleries from all over the world in November in Shanghai.
