Profile
The China International Occupational Safety and Health Exhibition (CIOSH) is a national trade fair organized by the China National Textile and Apparel Council since 1966. Held twice annually—spring and autumn—the spring edition is permanently staged in Shanghai, while the autumn edition takes the form of a nationwide touring exhibition.
Safeguarding workers’ life safety and occupational health represents the most fundamental and profound essence of workplace safety, forming its core. Throughout production processes, the principle of “people first” must be firmly upheld. In balancing production and safety, safety must always take precedence and be placed above all else.
Occupational protective equipment—also known as personal protective equipment (PPE)—refers to protective gear provided to workers during production to prevent or mitigate accident-related injuries and occupational hazards. By employing measures such as barrier protection, enclosure, absorption, dispersion, and suspension, PPE helps shield parts or the entirety of the human body from external threats. Under certain conditions, the use of PPE constitutes the primary protective measure. PPE products are categorized into general-purpose and specialized protective equipment.
With rapid societal development, CIOSH leverages both online and offline platforms to comprehensively showcase cutting-edge products, innovative processes, and advanced technologies in the occupational safety sector, thereby anticipating future industry trends. To enable Chinese occupational safety enterprises to exert greater influence on the international stage, in March 2020, the China National Textile and Apparel Council and Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing. Drawing on their respective strengths, the two parties jointly upgraded and reimagined the spring edition of CIOSH. By connecting with global industry resources, CIOSH continuously expands international horizons for PPE manufacturers, establishes efficient channels for workers to access high-quality PPE solutions, and builds a vanguard observatory for the PPE industry.
The China International Occupational Safety and Health Exhibition (CIOSH) remains steadfastly committed to individual safety and workplace safety, aiming to create a broader platform for information sharing among enterprises, between businesses and industries, between companies and governments, between enterprises and academic institutions, and between businesses and markets. While serving as a vital platform for trade and dialogue between global producers and users of protective products, CIOSH also strives to accelerate the robust growth of China’s occupational safety sector, ensuring that domestic brands continue to advance confidently along the broad path toward worldwide recognition.
China International Exhibition on Personal Protective Equipment tickets are e-tickets. Mainland China visitors must complete online pre-registration with real-name ID verification; overseas visitors must use passport verification; Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan visitors must use their travel permit. On site, verify entry with your ID card or by scanning the e-ticket QR code.

The Exhibition Value of the China International Safety & Health Products Expo (CIOSH)
- China’s longest-running and largest professional event in the personal protective equipment (PPE) sector, widely recognized as “China’s premier PPE trade show.” Since its inception in 1966, under the authoritative sponsorship of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, the expo has evolved over nearly six decades into one of the world’s most influential specialized exhibitions for safety and health products. Held twice annually—spring and autumn—in key cities across China, including Shanghai and Wuhan, it brings together leading global PPE manufacturers, cutting-edge products, and innovative technological solutions, serving as a strategic platform for PPE companies to showcase their brand strength, connect with industry‑wide value chains, and gain insights into emerging trends.
- Comprehensive Coverage Across the Entire Industry Chain, Presenting Seven Core Sectors in Full. The exhibit lineup spans all major segments of personal protective equipment—including head, eye and face, respiratory, hand, foot, body protection, and fall‑arrest systems—as well as occupational apparel and materials such as flame‑retardant, antistatic, acid‑resistant, and radiation‑shielding fabrics and workwear. It also features emergency rescue gear, industrial safety monitoring instruments, dust‑explosion‑proof and toxic‑gas‑purification technologies, occupational and personal health services, and raw materials and manufacturing equipment for protective products—covering seven core categories. From traditional safety gear to smart, connected safety solutions, and from basic protective measures to advanced emergency response systems, the expo offers a complete panorama of innovations across the broader safety industry chain.
- A Global Buyer Network, Creating a Premier Hub for Industrial Safety Trade and Collaboration. Each year, the expo attracts tens of thousands of professional buyers from across China and around the world, including representatives from large industrial and mining enterprises, construction firms, power and energy companies, chemical conglomerates, occupational apparel procurement departments, emergency response agencies, distributors, agents, and import‑export traders. At the 2024 Shanghai edition, more than 1,500 exhibitors occupied an exhibition space of 80,000 square meters, drawing over 30,000 professional visitors. Exhibiting companies can efficiently connect with key market channels and expand their domestic and international sales networks.
- Innovations at the Intersection of Technology and Safety, Driving Intelligent and Sustainable Industry Transformation. Closely aligned with trends in workplace safety and occupational health, the expo highlights groundbreaking “tech‑plus‑safety” innovations, such as smart helmets, wearable monitoring devices, explosion‑proof smartphones, and intelligent fall‑arrest systems. From lightweight composite materials to bio‑based eco‑friendly fabrics, and from ergonomic designs to IoT‑enabled safety monitoring, technological advances are profoundly reshaping the PPE sector, providing a prestigious stage for companies to demonstrate their innovation capabilities and secure a competitive edge in cutting‑edge technologies.
- Standardization Upgrades and Deep Integration of Industry, Academia, Research, and Application, Building a Platform for High‑Quality Industry Development. During the expo, a series of high‑profile events take place, including the China Occupational Safety and Health Industry Summit, seminars on personal protective equipment standards, technical exchanges on occupational health and safety, and launch events for new materials and technologies. These forums bring together leaders from national ministries, industry experts, and corporate executives to engage in in‑depth discussions on policy frameworks, technical standards, market trends, and pathways toward internationalization, offering businesses a high‑level think tank to navigate regulatory shifts and leverage industry‑academia‑research collaborations.
