The Ho Chi Minh City International Fisheries and Seafood Exhibition (VIETFISHSH) is Vietnam’s—and indeed Southeast Asia’s—only world-class specialized fisheries exhibition.Established in 1998, it is organized by the Ministry of Fisheries of Vietnam and hosted by the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers.Over the years, Vietfish has steadily expanded in scale and scope, meeting the needs of domestic and international enterprises and emerging as the premier gathering place for leading Vietnamese seafood producers and processors, alongside global partners.

The Ho Chi Minh City International Fisheries and Seafood Exhibition (VIETFISHSH) attracted 327 exhibitors from Vietnam and 15 other countries, including the United States, Indonesia, India, Russia, Japan, China, and more. According to VASEP Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thu Sac, Vietnam currently ranks among the group of nations with high competitiveness in the fisheries sector, holding the third-largest share of global seafood exports and accounting for over 7% of the world market, behind only China and Norway.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien emphasized that the fisheries industry is one of the key economic sectors contributing significantly to Vietnam’s economy. Despite ongoing challenges, Vietnamese seafood brands have gained widespread recognition among both domestic and international consumers, with Vietnamese seafood now exported to more than 170 countries worldwide.

Titled “Asia’s Home of Seafood,” the Southern Seafood Processing Exhibition at VIETFISHSH will offer a series of diverse and engaging activities, creating numerous opportunities for seafood processing and exporting companies while providing visitors with an immersive experience of Vietnam’s rich culinary heritage.

Looking ahead, Vietnam’s primary goal is to become an international seafood and trade fair—a vibrant platform for domestic and international partners to network, collaborate, and exchange ideas, as well as a hub where seafood products can be sourced and traded across regions.The Ho Chi Minh City International Fisheries and Seafood Exhibition (VIETFISHSH)is one of Asia’s most promising seafood markets and serves as a major trade gateway for unlocking the vast potential of Vietnam’s seafood industry.
