The China International Pharmaceutical Machinery Exposition (CIPM) was first launched in the 1990s and is held twice a year (spring and autumn). Since 2004, it has been continuously listed as a key supported exhibition by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China. In 2008, it was officially approved by the Ministry of Commerce as an international pharmaceutical machinery exposition.

In recent years, each edition has covered an exhibition area of over 150,000 square meters, spanning nine major sectors: formulation machinery, API machinery, pharmaceutical packaging machinery, testing & laboratory equipment, pharmaceutical water & gas equipment, engineering purification & environmental protection equipment, pharmaceutical crushing equipment, TCM decoction pieces processing equipment, and other pharmaceutical machinery & equipment.
