The Jiangxi International Nonferrous Metals and Metallurgical Industry Exhibition was convened by the organizing committee—following extensive on‑the‑ground market research and project analyses conducted in collaboration with government authorities and industry associations—to promote the healthy development of Jiangxi Province’s nonferrous metals sector, foster international economic and trade cooperation, and align the province’s nonferrous metals industry with global standards.
From China’s first aircraft, first diesel‑powered wheeled tractor, first military sidecar motorcycle, first coastal defense missile, and first artificial satellite, to today’s C919 large passenger jet, all were conceived and brought to fruition here.
The nonferrous metals industry is Jiangxi Province’s largest pillar industry. Under the dual‑control policy on energy consumption and the “dual carbon” goals, coupled with the new imperatives of high‑quality development, fresh demands have emerged for scaling up and strengthening this sector. Advancing the nonferrous metals industry toward healthier, faster, and more orderly growth, while enhancing its core competitiveness, is an essential step in transitioning Jiangxi from a major producer of nonferrous metal resources to a leading industrial powerhouse—and a key lever for achieving the province’s carbon peak target by 2030.
Leveraging Jiangxi’s abundant nonferrous mineral resources, the province’s nonferrous metals sector has experienced rapid expansion, continuously elevating its technological and operational standards. It has now become Jiangxi’s foremost pillar industry, a “trillion‑yuan‑level” strategic sector currently being prioritized for development, and the well‑deserved cornerstone of the province’s manufacturing base. Jiangxi has thus established itself as a vital hub for the mining and production of nonferrous metals in China. With exceptionally favorable geological conditions and rich mineral endowments, the province ranks among China’s most important centers for nonferrous, rare earth, and uranium resources, boasting a relatively high degree of resource integration. Its seven major mineral categories—copper, tungsten, rare earths, uranium, tantalum‑niobium, gold, and silver—are often referred to as the “Seven Golden Flowers.” In line with Jiangxi’s “2+6+N” action plan for high‑quality, leapfrogging industrial development, the province aims to achieve trillion‑yuan‑level revenues in its nonferrous metals sector.
