The 9th China (Foshan) International Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cell Technology & Products Exhibition (CHFE2025) was successfully held from October 22 to 24, 2025, at the Qiaoshan Cultural Center in Nanhai District, Foshan. This edition of the exhibition was held concurrently with the China Hydrogen Energy Industry Conference, organized by the China Center for International Economic and Technical Exchanges. With the theme “Innovation Leads, Hydrogen Chain Global,” it has become a premier annual event in the hydrogen energy sector.
In terms of scale, this year’s exhibition covered an area of 21,000 square meters, bringing together more than 350 exhibitors from around the world and attracting over 20,000 professional visitors, including international attendees from 25 countries and regions. The show was divided into four major thematic zones—Brand Pavilion, Fuel Cell Pavilion, Equipment Pavilion, and Outdoor Exhibition Area—providing a concentrated showcase of technologies and equipment spanning the entire hydrogen energy value chain.
This year’s exhibition featured numerous highlights, with the expansion of hydrogen energy application scenarios emerging as the central focus. For the first time, the event was upgraded to an “Hydrogen Ecosystem Station.” Building on the established flagship sections for fuel cells and hydrogen equipment, three distinctive special sections were introduced: the Hydrogen Health and Hydrogen Technology section showcased lifestyle applications such as hydrogen water generators and hydrogen‑based medical aids; the Natural Gas–Hydrogen Blending Technology and Equipment section highlighted new frontiers in energy integration; and the Hydrogen‑Powered Boat section brought hydrogen‑propelled vessels to the waters. At the show, Guangdong Kavolo Hydrogen Technology unveiled the world’s first hydrogen‑powered coffee machine, drawing long queues of guests eager to sample it, while hydrogen‑powered boats offered attendees a chance to experience the technology firsthand on Tingyin Lake.
Demonstration projects in hydrogen‑powered transportation were prominently launched, underscoring the strength of Nanhai’s hydrogen energy industry. During the exhibition, the official launch ceremony took place for the deployment of 100 hydrogen‑powered official vehicles, 1,000 hydrogen‑powered commercial vehicles, and 10,000 hydrogen‑powered two‑wheelers in Nanhai. Zhongxin Hydrogen Energy and Nanhai Hanhe Company signed an agreement to jointly establish the nation’s first platform for managing hydrogen‑powered official vehicle fleets. Zhonghydrogen Hanxin plans to deploy over 100 hydrogen‑powered official vehicles, Zhonghydrogen Lianda will introduce 200 hydrogen‑powered refrigerated trucks, and Zhonghydrogen Shunda will roll out 5,000 hydrogen‑powered two‑wheelers. Feichi Technology exhibited heavy‑duty trucks and refrigerated vehicles powered by hydrogen, having recently won a contract to supply 500 light‑weight fuel cell‑powered refrigerated trucks, valued at RMB 287.5 million.
A rich array of concurrent events created a high‑level platform for industry dialogue. The China Hydrogen Energy Industry Conference welcomed speeches from Wang Yiming, Vice Chairman of the China Center for International Economic and Technical Exchanges, and Bai Tao, Mayor of Foshan, among other dignitaries. Leading experts—including Chinese Academy of Sciences Academicians Zou Cai’neng, Zhang Qingjie, and Xie Zaiku—delivered keynote addresses. The HySpace Innovation Forum featured specialized sessions on AEM hydrogen production technologies, international exchanges on Canadian hydrogen technologies and policies, and innovations in hydrogen production and storage. Meanwhile, the Hydrogen Listening Theater hosted technical presentations by industry specialists and corporate executives. The Hydrogen Skills Competition made its debut, with nearly one hundred contestants competing in skills such as fuel cell assembly and maintenance, and hydrogen refueling station repair.
The international community continued to expand, with overseas exhibitors and buyers gathering in force. This year’s exhibition attracted group delegations from Japan, South Korea, Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Australia, and other countries. More than 100 international buyer groups attended, engaging in one‑on‑one negotiations to efficiently match supply with demand. Canadian and Japanese delegations showcased their latest technologies and products, providing exhibitors with precise opportunities to tap into overseas markets.
The exhibition yielded significant outcomes and received enthusiastic industry feedback. Exhibitors widely reported that this year’s event attracted high‑quality professional visitors with clear purchasing intentions, accelerating the implementation of hydrogen energy applications. Attendees noted that CHFE is not only an excellent platform for brand exposure and business matchmaking but also a critical hub for identifying industry trends and exploring diversified pathways for hydrogen utilization. During the conference, Nanhai District unveiled the “Ten Products, One Hundred Acres, Ten Thousand Hectares” Verification and Promotion Plan for Hydrogen Agriculture, along with the Implementation Plan for the Hydrogen‑Powered Two‑Wheeler Industry Demonstration Project, further advancing the large‑scale application of hydrogen in agriculture and everyday mobility.
