Exhibition Introduction
The Value of Participating in the World Dental Congress
- The Shanghai Dental Equipment Exhibition (FDI WDC) is the largest and most authoritative comprehensive event in the global dental field, hosted by the FDI World Dental Federation. Often referred to as the “Olympics of Dentistry,” it serves as a key indicator of trends across the industry. Founded in 1900, the FDI represents over one million dentists from more than 140 countries and regions. Its annual congress is universally recognized as the premier academic and commercial platform in the dental world. The 2025 edition held in Shanghai marked China’s return to this prestigious event after a 19-year absence, symbolizing the growing prominence of China’s dental industry on the global stage.
- The core value of participation lies in its role as a bridge connecting the world’s leading resources in dental medicine. The 2025 congress drew over 10,000 dental professionals from 142 countries and regions, with attendance exceeding 30,000. Spanning 60,000 square meters, the exhibition brought together 700 exhibiting companies. The professional audience included dentists, distributors, and hospital procurement decision-makers, offering businesses a strategic gateway to engage directly with key global buyers.
- The event provides a one-stop commercial platform covering the entire dental supply chain. Exhibits range from dental treatment equipment and imaging systems to digital solutions, implant materials, prosthetic fabrication, and infection-control devices. In 2025, the exhibition introduced three specialized zones: an academic-industrial collaboration area, a new-product launch zone, and a future-clinic experience zone. Top institutions such as Peking University School of Stomatology and West China School of Stomatology at Sichuan University made their debut, showcasing the latest scientific advances in Chinese dentistry. The new-product launch zone gathered cutting-edge global innovations, with over a dozen product launches highlighting smart diagnostic tools and digital solutions.
- The event brings together leading international brands and innovative forces, creating a stronghold of brand value. International brands like Haleon, Listerine, LION, and Colgate competed alongside hundreds of Chinese manufacturers. Meiya Optoelectronics, a pioneer in China’s dental imaging sector, unveiled its first intelligent oral imaging system, “Meiya Yingqing,” and the intraoral scanning device “MyScan5,” helping to build a new ecosystem for smart dental care. China Dental Valley organized 37 companies to participate collectively, achieving cumulative sales exceeding RMB 10 million and securing RMB 30 million in preliminary orders during the event.
- The event aligns with three major industry trends—AI-assisted healthcare, digital diagnostics, and new material applications—establishing a technological hub where academia, industry, and clinical practice converge. For the first time, AI was employed for real-time translation, while over 300 domestic and international experts contributed more than 200 academic lectures, addressing topics ranging from clinical innovation to the integration of cutting-edge technologies. Specialized forums such as the Digital Dentistry Symposium and the Oral Public Health Symposium explored pressing industry issues in depth. The future-clinic experience zone leveraged VR, intelligent navigation, and 3D printing to simulate next-generation dental care, enabling attendees to immerse themselves in fully digitized workflows.
- For Chinese enterprises, this event serves as a strategic gateway to expand into global markets, connect with international resources, and achieve overseas brand expansion. The 2025 congress received a record-breaking 3,396 submissions worldwide, signaling China’s accelerated shift from a “technology follower” to a “standard setter.” Companies from China Dental Valley secured five high-quality cooperative projects through the event, while the Ziyang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone team engaged with nearly 20 international firms, successfully finalizing several preliminary collaborations. Zhonghui Technology showcased its digital virtual simulation training system for dentistry, partnering deeply with top institutions such as Peking University School of Stomatology and West China School of Stomatology at Sichuan University, demonstrating China’s strength in digitally transforming dental education. Through this platform, participating companies can access global procurement networks and seize early opportunities in the智能化 transformation of dental healthcare.
