Review
The 26th China International Optoelectronics Expo (CIOE China) was successfully held from September 10 to 12, 2025, at the Shenzhen International Convention & Exhibition Center (Bao’an New Hall). This edition of the expo spanned 240,000 square meters, with eight thematic exhibitions covering information and communication, precision optics, camera technology and applications, laser and intelligent manufacturing, infrared, ultraviolet, smart sensing, new display technologies, AR & VR, and optoelectronic innovation sectors.
This year’s CIOE brought together 3,827 high-quality exhibitors. The event featured specially curated zones showcasing automotive optical communications, humanoid robots, petrochemical products, telescopes and astronomical instruments, endoscopic imaging, laser medical applications, sapphire processing, optical injection molding/pressing aspheric components, laser welding, and “Light Up the Intelligent World—Laser Applications,” among others. Ninety-three point two percent of exhibitors indicated they would participate again, while 93.5% expressed satisfaction or very high satisfaction with the overall outcomes of the 2025 show.
Shenzhen Optics Expo attracted 143,645 visitors, totaling 284,124 visits, including 6,108 international attendees from countries such as the United States, South Korea, Japan, India, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand, and others. Furthermore, 97.86% of visitors stated they would return to CIOE China in the future.
For the first time, CIOE China collaborated with SEMI-e Shenzhen International Semiconductor Exhibition and the 2025 Integrated Circuit Industry Innovation Expo, creating a dual-event synergy that successfully established an industrial ecosystem of “Optoelectronics + Semiconductors.” This innovative initiative has facilitated the convergence of the optoelectronics and semiconductor industries, leveraging advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes to elevate optoelectronic device production while providing an efficient platform for upstream and downstream stakeholders to exchange ideas and accelerate technological breakthroughs and commercialization in cutting-edge fields such as photonic chips, silicon photonics, and optoelectronic integration.
