The China Metrology Exhibition—Beijing Metrology Testing Technology and Equipment Show (CMTE CHINA) is the first international procurement event in Asia dedicated to the metrology and testing sector.This edition brings together cutting-edge products and technologies across all metrology domains, while inviting numerous experts and scholars to jointly explore the latest advances in metrological research and development.
The China Metrology Exhibition—Beijing Metrology Testing Technology and Equipment Show (CMTE CHINA) has attracted more than 500 high-quality domestic and international suppliers, showcasing over 1,200 exhibits, primarily covering metrological instruments, measuring devices, energy meters, and precision measurement equipment. Notably, half of the exhibitors are high-tech enterprises or specialized, niche, and innovative companies, highlighting China’s emerging premium brands in high-end metrology instruments and contributing to the rise of domestically produced instrument and meter brands.

The 7th China International Metrology and Testing Technology & Equipment Expo 2025 was successfully held from May 27 to 29, 2025, at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Center. Co-hosted by the Shanghai Metrology Association and the China Metrology Association, this year’s expo was themed “Gathering in Shanghai for Seven Days, Experiencing Metrology,” marking a major annual event for China’s metrology sector.
In terms of scale, the expo covered nearly 12,000 square meters, attracting more than 300 high-quality domestic and international suppliers in the metrology field, showcasing over 1,200 product varieties.The exhibits spanned all categories, including measuring instruments, instrumentation, energy meters, and precision measurement devices. Notably, enterprises specializing in cutting-edge technologies and “specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative” firms accounted for over half of the exhibitors, highlighting the latest scientific and technological advances as well as market application prospects of China’s high-end metrological instruments and equipment. The event drew more than 15,000 visitors, including key national and provincial research institutes, metrology institutions, and specialized technical professionals from around the world, who came to attend and engage in exchanges.
This edition of the expo featured numerous highlights, with groundbreaking metrological innovations serving as the centerpiece of the show.Among them were China’s first embodied intelligent robot for metrology, an AI-powered metrology large model, an online flue gas flow calibration system, electromagnetic precision measurement instruments, a constant-temperature device for mK‑level semiconductor temperature calibration wafers, a field‑calibration instrument for voltage and current transformers, and a field‑emission scanning electron microscope—high‑tech metrological products that captured widespread attention from attendees. At the Jin Yi Metrology Technology booth, a robotic arm worked tirelessly, picking pressure gauges from trays and placing them on preparation stations and calibration platforms; it could automatically test four gauges in just ten minutes, significantly outpacing manual processes and offering customized solutions tailored to clients’ laboratories, thereby boosting new‑type productivity in the metrology industry.
A rich array of concurrent events created a high‑end platform for industry dialogue.During the expo, several thematic seminars were held, focusing on topics such as “Metrology Technologies, Innovation, and Market Synergy in the Dual‑Carbon Era,” “Digital and Intelligent Metrology Driving High‑Quality Development of National Defense Metrology,” “Smart Metering Management Enhancing Urban Service Efficiency,” and “Measurement Safeguarding Public Health.” The inaugural meeting of the Industry Metrology and Testing Professional Committee of the China Metrology Association was also solemnly convened. More than 20 exhibiting companies hosted new‑product launch events, while award ceremonies for 2025 metrology innovation products, forums for exchanging new metrology technologies and products, and Fujian Electric Power’s new‑product launches took place concurrently. At the opening ceremony, the “Shanghai Taxi Industry Integrity Metrology Demonstration Initiative” was officially launched, leveraging onboard smart terminals to ensure full transparency in fare calculation, thereby elevating taxi service quality and metrological integrity.
The professional audience was robust, with an increasingly international character.The expo attracted management and technical personnel from leading national and provincial research institutes, laboratories, and large and medium‑sized enterprise labs and research centers worldwide. Representatives from domestic and international public utilities, water supply and sanitation groups, gas companies, State Grid, as well as users in the petroleum, chemical, steel, environmental, water resources, medical, aerospace, automotive manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, and industrial measurement sectors—all end‑users of metrological services—were present to observe and exchange insights on site. SGS, an internationally recognized leader in third‑party calibration services, expanded its exhibition space this year from 9 to 36 square meters, showcasing comprehensive calibration services across multiple domains.
