Ningbo International Lighting Exhibition

The 16th Ningbo International Lighting Exhibition 2025 was successfully held from May 8 to 10 at the Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center. Co-organized by the Ningbo Electronics Industry Association, the Ningbo Semiconductor Lighting Industry–University–Research Institute Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, and Shanghai Yisheng Exhibition Service Co., Ltd., this year’s event was themed “Intelligent Innovation for the Future, Illuminating the World,” marking a major annual milestone in the lighting industry.

In terms of scale, all eight exhibition halls were fully occupied, with a total exhibition area of 60,000 square meters. The show brought together over 2,000 exhibitors from around the globe and attracted nearly 100,000 professional visitors. Exhibitors included world-class lighting brands such as Opple Lighting, Philips, and Amazon, as well as leading companies in niche segments, including Dongling Power, Baorun Lighting, Juxing Lighting, Tongyifang Optoelectronics, and Songsheng Power. The exhibit lineup spanned the entire lighting value chain—covering everything from component materials to finished luminaires, production equipment to control systems, and chip components to testing and packaging—showcasing tens of thousands of innovative products across twelve major product categories.

This edition of the exhibition featured numerous highlights, with cutting-edge technologies and pioneering products serving as the central attractions. The LED lighting technology without phosphors, demonstrated by the team led by Academician Jiang Fengyi of Nanchang University, drew significant attention. With a theoretical luminous efficacy of up to 300 lm/W, this breakthrough frees LED lighting from reliance on phosphor-based systems, boasts independent intellectual property rights, and ushers in a third technological pathway for LED illumination. Jinhuangguang Electronics unveiled a series of products and light sources, and signed a cooperation agreement on-site with Yueguangbaohe (Ningbo) Maternal and Infant Technology, paving the way for the industrialization of phosphor-free LED eye-care lamps. Meanwhile, Ningbo Yitang Intelligent Technology showcased its surface-mount pick-and-place machine—the first of its kind in Zhejiang Province—successfully breaking foreign monopolies. The exhibition also highlighted innovative solutions such as smart streetlight remote-control systems, nano-scale optical coatings, and one-piece cold-drawn multifunctional poles.

A rich array of concurrent events created a high‑level platform for industry exchange. During the exhibition, more than 30 high‑profile forums and activities were held, including the “AI + Outdoor Lighting Industry Innovation Forum,” the “Lighting Industry New‑Quality Productivity Innovation Development Forum,” the “Seminar on Digital Transformation for Global Lighting Market Expansion,” the “Global Lighting Tasting Session,” and the “Overseas Buyer Matchmaking Event.” These events focused on hot topics such as AI‑driven lighting, new opportunities in international trade, and the development of new‑quality productivity. Over 50 lighting enterprises from Gaoyou City participated as a group, earning widespread acclaim for their innovative offerings, including smart streetlights and multifunctional integrated poles.

The professional visitor base was robust, with an unprecedented level of international participation. The exhibition attracted purchasing delegations from more than 40 countries and regions across Asia, Europe, North America, and Africa. The scale and frequency of overseas buyer matchmaking sessions were comprehensively expanded, with approximately 80% of participating companies securing preliminary orders, achieving “on‑site exhibition, on‑site transactions.” In addition, the event introduced innovative digital platforms, such as the “Lighting Online” mini‑program, enabling seamless integration between online and offline channels and providing exhibitors with year‑round, uninterrupted display and networking services.

The exhibition yielded substantial results and received enthusiastic responses from the industry. Exhibiting companies generally reported that the quality of professional visitors was exceptionally high, with clear purchasing intentions, and that on‑site business matchmaking was highly effective. The event effectively signaled a rebound in the lighting market and renewed confidence in international trade. Attendees noted that the Ningbo International Lighting Exhibition is not only an excellent platform for brand promotion and commercial connections but also a critical hub for gaining insights into global lighting trends and exploring pathways toward intelligent and sustainable transformation.
