Shanghai International Exhibition on Traffic Engineering, Intelligent Transportation Technologies and Facilities

The 2025 Shanghai International Exhibition on Traffic Engineering, Intelligent Transportation Technologies and Facilities (Intertraffic China 2025) was successfully held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. Co-hosted by the Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport of the People’s Republic of China and RAI Exhibitions Group of the Netherlands, this edition of the show was themed “Digitalization, Safety, Innovation, and Integration,” making it the most significant annual event for technological exchange and business matchmaking in the Asia-Pacific transportation sector.

Exhibition Space and Exhibitor Numbers Reach New Highs. This year’s event brought together over 400 renowned domestic and international brands, with an exhibition area spanning 30,000 square meters. Over the three-day period, the show welcomed more than 20,000 professional visitors from over 85 countries and regions, including over 15% international buyers. Delegations and procurement missions from entities such as the Roads and Transport Authority of the United Arab Emirates, the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Turkey, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan—among more than 20 groups—attended to engage in business negotiations. Industry leaders including China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, and Huawei also participated.

Eight Thematic Zones Cover the Entire Transportation Value Chain. The exhibition featured specialized zones dedicated to artificial intelligence technologies and innovations, intelligent traffic lighting, road maintenance and inspection, transportation infrastructure and road safety, smart parking technologies and equipment, weight‑over‑limit control technologies and systems, integrated energy‑transportation facilities and technologies, and non‑motorized transport technologies and equipment. Demonstrations highlighted the practical applications of large AI models in dynamic traffic signal management, network traffic forecasting, and automated incident detection, while breakthroughs in automated parking, shared parking, and contactless payment technologies reached domestically leading levels.

More Than 70 High‑Level Forums and Supporting Events Held Concurrently.During the exhibition, specialized forums were held on smart mobility, intelligent street lighting, and dual-carbon development, bringing together heads of industry regulatory bodies, renowned domestic and international experts, and senior executives from leading enterprises to discuss emerging trends in transportation. Concurrently organized exclusive events—including one‑on‑one business matchmaking sessions, targeted procurement meetings, and new‑product roadshows—facilitated efficient matching between supply and demand, resulting in numerous substantive collaborations and concrete implementation cases on site.

Strong Response from Exhibitors and Industry. Participating companies widely reported that the event attracted high‑quality professional buyers with clear purchasing intentions. According to official statistics, more than 70 companies renewed their exhibition booths for 2026 on-site. In his opening address, Pan Fengming, Deputy Director of the Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, emphasized that this edition of the show adheres to the principle of “transportation first, upholding fundamentals while fostering innovation,” deepening collaborative linkages across domestic and international innovation and industrial chains, and injecting innovative momentum into the cultivation of new‑generation productivity in the transport sector. Dai Dunwei, a Second‑Level Inspector at the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, noted that the exhibition’s theme aligns closely with Shanghai’s smart‑transportation development strategy, providing robust support for advancing benchmark applications in smart mobility, green energy, and other cutting‑edge areas.

Attendees agreed that, after eighteen years of growth, Intertraffic China has become the most influential transportation‑focused trade fair in the Asia‑Pacific region—a strategic platform for companies to showcase products, connect with customers, gain insights into market trends, and expand into global markets.

The 19th Shanghai International Exhibition on Traffic Engineering, Intelligent Transportation Technologies and Facilities (Intertraffic China 2026) will take place from June 3 to 5 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. Co‑organized by the Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport and the Dutch RAI Exhibition Group, the event is expected to cover an exhibition area exceeding 45,000 square meters, attracting more than 600 exhibiting companies.

This year’s exhibition focuses on AI-driven transportation and will feature eight core thematic zones, covering artificial intelligence technologies and innovations, highway maintenance and inspection, smart traffic lighting, integrated energy‑transport infrastructure and technologies, intelligent parking solutions and equipment, weight‑and‑dimension enforcement technologies and systems, transportation infrastructure and road safety, as well as non‑motorized mobility technologies and equipment. Of particular note, the event will host a dedicated Smart Lighting Forum and technical exchange sessions, with leading companies such as Shunzhou Intelligent and Edimeng—pioneers in smart light poles and intelligent control systems—already confirmed to participate.

“Digital Intelligence Empowers, Collaborative Development” is the central theme of this edition.
