The 10th World Robot Conference 2025 was successfully held from August 8 to 12, 2025, at the Beijing Yizhuang Beiren Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center. Co-hosted by the China Institute of Electronics and the World Robot Collaboration Organization, this year’s event was themed “Making Robots Smarter, Empowering Embodied Intelligence,” marking a premier annual gathering in the robotics sector.
In terms of scale, the conference brought together over 220 domestic and international robotics companies, showcasing more than 1,500 innovative solutions—among which over 100 were world premieres. A total of 50 manufacturers exhibited complete humanoid robots, setting a new record for similar exhibitions. The overall funding raised reached RMB 1.481 billion, while exhibition space, the number of participating enterprises, and the level of technological displays all hit record highs. Concurrently, the World Robot Contest drew over 6,000 teams and more than 10,000 competitors from over ten countries worldwide.
This edition featured a wealth of highlights, with robots shifting from “showcasing cutting-edge technology” to “delivering real-world value” as a central theme. UBTECH unveiled Walker S2, the world’s first autonomous battery-swapping humanoid robot, capable of replenishing its energy in just three minutes, and demonstrated swarm intelligence through its Brain‑Net 2.0 system, enabling multiple robots to collaborate seamlessly. Unitree Robotics presented a boxing‑robot combat demonstration and launched its compact humanoid robot, Unitree R1, priced starting at RMB 39,900. Star Motion Epoch showcased its full‑size humanoid robot, Star Motion L7, performing complex logistics tasks, while Zhijì Dynamics’ LimX Oli delivered live performances blending traditional Chinese dance with martial arts.
Specialized exhibition zones and concurrent events offered an array of engaging experiences. For the first time, the conference introduced “Robot World 2.0,” innovatively establishing a 4S store for embodied‑intelligence robots and a robot-themed restaurant, “Robot Flame Research Institute,” bringing robots from display stands to retail shelves. The inaugural “E‑Town Robot Consumption Festival” sold 19,000 robots and related products, generating sales exceeding RMB 200 million. During the event, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology officially released Beijing’s “Double Hundred” achievements in robotics and a social experiment plan on embodied intelligence, providing policy and scenario‑based support for industrial implementation.
Concurrent activities established a high‑end platform for industry dialogue. Forum sessions gathered over 400 experts, scholars, and international guests to discuss trends in the robotics industry and intelligent equipment development. The World Robot Collaboration Organization published “Trends in Embodied‑Intelligence Robotics 2025,” systematically outlining ten key evolutionary dimensions across embodied decision‑making and embodied‑intelligence control. Meanwhile, the China Institute of Electronics released “Ten Potential Application Scenarios for Humanoid Robots 2025,” covering sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, 3C electronics, shipbuilding, petrochemicals, power generation, safety and emergency response, commercial services, home‑care, and agricultural production.
Exhibition outcomes and industry feedback were overwhelmingly positive. Participating companies widely reported that this year’s event attracted highly qualified professional visitors with clear purchasing intentions, accelerating the commercialization of robotic technologies. Tan Min, Chief Brand Officer of UBTECH, remarked, “This year, the focus of our humanoid robot offerings has shifted decisively toward real‑world applications.” Wang Xingxing, founder of Unitree Robotics, noted that the primary bottleneck currently hindering humanoid robot advancement lies in large‑scale embodied‑intelligence models, predicting that within the next one to two years—or perhaps two to three—the industry may witness a “ChatGPT moment” for robotics. Attendees agreed that the WRC not only serves as an excellent platform for brand exposure and business matchmaking but also functions as a critical hub for gaining insights into industry trends and exploring pathways for the practical deployment of embodied intelligence.
