Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center has a total planned land area of approximately 3 million square meters and a total floor area of about 2 million square meters. The first phase of the project covers an area of approximately 161,000 square meters, with a total construction area of about 117,000 square meters. The exhibition part of the first phase is expected to be completed in August 2016 and independently put into use in September. The remaining supporting facilities are planned to be completed and put into use by May 2018.The first phase exhibition section includes five exhibition halls. The regular and flexible design of the exhibition hall plane is one of its main features. Each exhibition hall has a net exhibition area of approximately 9,000 square meters, following a layout of 3 meters × 3 meters, providing around 500 standard booths, suitable for various scales of exhibitions, displays, and other activities.

Located at the core of the Guangzhou-Foshan Twin-City Integration, the convention center is an important transportation hub in the Pearl River Delta. Adjacent to Beijiao Station on the Guangzhou-Foshan Loop Line, it can efficiently utilize the regional transportation hub function of Guangzhou South Railway Station. It is adjacent to Shangliao Station on the Foshan Metro Line 3, which allows for quick access to the central urban areas of Foshan and Shunde. Foshan Line 3 intersects with Guangzhou Metro Line 7 in Beijiao, allowing for rapid access to the urban areas of Guangzhou. The Foshan East First Ring Road and Huye Road on the south side can quickly connect Tanzhou New Town, Beijiao New Town, and other surrounding urban areas in Shunde. Driving to Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou takes only 1 hour and 19 minutes, to Guangzhou South Railway Station takes only 27 minutes, and to Shunde Port Station takes about 20 minutes.

Of note is that after the completion of this international convention and exhibition center, in addition to relying on the strong industrial foundation of Foshan (Shunde), it also hopes to rely on the surrounding well-developed transportation infrastructure to generate a radiation effect. In the future, the northern area of Shunde will have an efficient and convenient transportation network of "three city tracks and nine subways": the current intercity track Guangzhou-Zhuhai Line (built), Guangzhou-Foshan Loop Line (under construction), and Guangzhou-Foshan Jiangmen-Zhuhai Line (planned). The construction of Foshan Metro Lines 1 and 2 has already started, and Line 3 is currently undergoing preliminary勘察Design勘探设计design investigation and design. The Guangzhou Metro Line 7 has just been approved by the National Development and Reform Commission and is about to be built. In addition to rail transit, among the nine major projects recently promoted in the northern area, there are seven transportation infrastructure projects, including the Fuchen Road East Extension, Haihua Bridge, Chrysanthemum Bay Bridge, and Wenden Road Reconstruction. The construction of these projects will further strengthen the integration of the northern area of Shunde, accelerating the integration of Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center into the Guangzhou-Foshan metropolitan area.
