The Las Colinas Irving Convention Center covers a total area of 25,500 square meters and is located in the heart of the Las Colinas urban center in Irving, Texas. Spanning over 40 acres (16 hectares), the convention center and its adjacent multi-functional entertainment district opened in January 2011. It is situated west of Highway 114, east of Las Colinas Boulevard, north of State Highway 348/Northwest Freeway, and south of Fuller Drive. The building is renowned for its distinctive architectural design and vertical layout.

Designed to cater to exhibitions, conferences, meetings, and other events, primarily for groups of 800 to 1,200 people, with general meeting space accommodating up to 4,000 attendees, the building consists of multiple levels with an adjacent parking facility. The ground floor features a 50,000-square-foot (4,600-square-meter) column-free exhibition hall, approximately two-and-a-half stories high, including the main foyer. The second level houses 20 lounges totaling 20,000 square feet (1,900 square meters), as well as a courtyard café that extends outdoors to a shaded terrace. The third level includes a banquet hall measuring 20,000 square feet (1,900 square meters), featuring a pre-function area and lounge spaces.

To avoid the conventional appearance of a conference center and maximize natural light, the Irving Convention Center was designed as two stacked and rotated boxes forming cantilevered corners, providing several shaded outdoor areas for visitors. Much of the building is encased in glass to allow for natural light, with a perforated copper facade acting as a screen to achieve a unique aesthetic and reduce energy consumption, which will naturally patina over time to a characteristic copper sheen.
