The Zhongshan Xiaolan Light Industry Machinery Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as the Zhongshan Machinery Exhibition) aims to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of Xiaolan’s traditional pillar industries, establish a model town for intelligent manufacturing, advance the “machines replace labor” initiative, and help manufacturing enterprises enhance their level of industrial automation.

Located at the heart of the Pearl River Delta’s one-hour economic circle, Xiaolan Town in Zhongshan City serves as a key transportation hub within the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, enjoying distinct locational advantages. The town boasts a robust industrial foundation, high levels of industrial agglomeration, and pronounced industrial characteristics. With over 40,000 market entities, including more than 14,000 manufacturing enterprises, private-sector businesses account for over 99% of the total. Xiaolan is home to five national-level industrial clusters: the China Hardware Products Industrial Base, the China Underwear Famous Town, the China Electronic Audio Industry Base, the China Smart Lock Industrial Base, and the China Semiconductor Intelligent Lighting Innovation Base. There are 420 industrial enterprises above designated size, and the town has now established a well-rounded development framework spanning smart locks, LED new light sources, hardware products, electronic appliances and audio equipment, food and beverage, chemical adhesives, apparel and footwear, and printing and packaging industries.

The hardware industry is Xiaolan’s traditional strength, with more than 5,000 enterprises and an annual output value of RMB 25.6 billion. Xiaolan not only serves as China’s export base for hardware products—particularly Xiaolan locks—but also ranks among the world’s largest production centers for casters. The Zhongshan Xiaolan Light Industry Machinery Exhibition has yielded abundant results and numerous highlights, evolving into one of the most popular and highly effective specialized trade fairs on the west bank of the Pearl River.
