Shanghai Beauty Expo – Shanghai International Beauty ExhibitionProfile
The Shanghai Beauty Expo—CIBE—is one of China’s largest and longest-running specialized exhibitions for the beauty and cosmetics industry. Established in 1989, CIBE is now held annually in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. With a mission to foster innovation and entrepreneurship across all sectors, support the growth and upgrading of beauty brands, help domestic brands expand internationally, and drive significant progress within the industry,
more than 15 distinctive exhibition zones will make their debut, covering hot market segments such as C‑Beauty manufacturing and overseas expansion, new consumer trends in appearance, traditional Chinese wellness practices, nail and lash services, scalp care and hair restoration, essential oil and aromatherapy, body shaping, eye health, and nutritional supplements. These zones bring together source factories, cutting-edge brand launches, cross-border resources, franchise opportunities, and end-to-end industry-chain services, creating a one-stop, highly efficient sourcing platform for professional buyers.
Focusing on upgrading the beauty supply chain and seizing opportunities for Chinese brands going global, the expo has specially curated four signature thematic sections, gathering top-tier OEM, ODM, and OBM manufacturers from both domestic and international markets, spanning skincare, color cosmetics, personal care, maternal and infant products, and broader health categories. At the same time, it brings together eco-friendly, smart, and creative packaging companies, offering end-to-end solutions—from design and R&D to production—enabling one-stop procurement of complete packaging supply chains.
A dedicated cross-border resources zone will also be unveiled, integrating resources from cross-border sellers, cross-border MCNs, private-domain livestreaming platforms, group-buying channels, and Taobao merchants, thereby establishing a face-to-face, precision matchmaking platform. Meanwhile, the overseas brands zone will showcase premium brands from multiple countries and regions, helping buyers swiftly grasp international beauty consumption trends and seize emerging global market opportunities.
In response to the growing trend toward health-conscious consumption, the expo introduces specialized zones for traditional Chinese wellness and broader health-related offerings, featuring innovative product categories such as herbal teas, TCM-based beauty treatments, intangible cultural heritage–inspired wellness practices, smart wearable devices, emotional healing products, and wellness tourism. These zones further encompass the entire value chain, including scalp therapy, moxibustion, body shaping, eye health, essential oil–based dietary therapies, sleep wellness, intimate care, and health‑related medical devices, opening up new avenues for growth in the health‑focused consumer market.
From brand globalization to supply-chain upgrades, from cutting-edge beauty innovations to health‑oriented consumption trends, and from popular bestsellers to future industry directions—Shanghai Beauty Expo (CIBE) will weave together more than 15 specialized exhibition zones, connecting the full spectrum of industry resources to create a comprehensive event that integrates experience, product selection, procurement, collaboration, and customer acquisition. Join us in Shanghai and unlock year-round business opportunities in the beauty industry—all in one place!

The 29th China International Beauty Expo (CBE) was successfully held from May 12 to 14, 2025, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. As one of the three flagship exhibitions under the Shanghai Municipal Government’s “First Launch in Shanghai” initiative, this edition was themed “Global New Products, First Launched in Shanghai.” With an exhibition area of 300,000 square meters, it brought together over 3,200 cosmetic companies from more than 40 countries and regions, covering 24 major categories and 119 sub‑categories. Over 10,000 beauty brands showcased more than 80,000 new products, bestsellers, and cutting-edge technological innovations, while more than 150 specialized innovation events were held concurrently.
Global New Product Debuts Lead a New Wave in the IndustryThe expo focused on unveiling global new products, with international giants such as L’Oréal, Shiseido, and LG Group presenting their latest innovations. Chinese domestic brands—including Proya, Naturie, and Bloomage Biotechnology—demonstrated the robust strength of “national trend” cosmetics. Emerging brands like Guyu, Ximumuyuan, Runbaiyan, Dr. Ci:Lab, Colorkey, and Spes further captured attention with innovative product lines. Delegations from over 40 countries and regions, including France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand, participated in group exhibits, while niche brands such as Dubai Royal Fragrances and Nordic Clean Beauty made striking appearances. As the guest country, France collaborated with the French Cosmetics Valley and the town of Grasse to foster in-depth exchanges between the Chinese and French cosmetics industries.
Global Tech Innovations Drive Industry UpgradingOn the first day of the expo, more than 1,500 high‑quality suppliers took to the stage, launching the “Global Tech New Products” initiative and introducing over 20,000 beauty‑tech offerings to professional buyers worldwide. Leading domestic and international suppliers—including COSMAX, INTERCOS, Nosbel, and Bawei Shares—presented breakthroughs spanning the entire value chain, from raw material R&D and packaging design to intelligent manufacturing. Concurrently, the 10th CBE International Cosmetics Technology Conference convened, featuring over 50 technical forums that brought together top research institutions and scientists, fostering closer alignment between scientific innovation and consumer demand.
Global Buyers Gather, Supply‑Demand Matching Reaches New HeightsThis year’s expo attracted an unprecedented number of international buyer delegations, including groups from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, India, Vietnam, and other key markets across Europe and Asia, as well as numerous national cosmetics industry associations. On-site visits and procurement activities were robust, with 20 countries and regions represented among the attending buyer delegations. At the Supplier‑Export Matching Event held on May 11, purchasing representatives from over 20 countries and regions connected with domestic beauty supply chain enterprises, resulting in more than 1,500 successful pairings and further accelerating the globalization of China’s beauty industry.
Diversified Channels and Fine‑Grained Segmentation Fuel Efficient Commercial ConversionIn the offline channel landscape, leading players such as major cosmetic retail chains, prominent distributors, and regional powerhouse stores engaged in immersive negotiations alongside emerging channels—including quality‑focused OTC retailers, innovative beauty boutiques, fashion department stores, upscale department stores, and novel discount outlets. Online, e‑commerce platforms, MCN agencies, and over 5,000 KOLs collaborated across digital ecosystems, leveraging social‑media‑driven purchasing to facilitate additional supply‑demand matches. Online initiatives such as the CBE Influencer Gala and the Influencer Matching Zone offered fresh solutions for integrating online and offline operations.
Five Major “New” Trends Unlock Unbounded PotentialThis year’s expo highlighted five core trends: the continuous emergence of global new products driving new consumer markets; the deepening of conversion value through global technology launches; the surging momentum of overseas expansion; diversified and finely segmented distribution channels; and the growing prominence of green and sustainable practices on the industry agenda. A total of 647 exhibitors entered the Green Booth Award competition, promoting the widespread adoption of green and sustainable principles throughout the sector.
